I find this a good match up.. wondering if anybody finds this a good match as well... both has a good resume but Alexander been fighting at WW for longer than Khan... I wonder what the outcome will be in this fight?? i did not create a poll since i wanted to know your opinions...I personally like Khan better over alexander, but seeing the last few fights it has not been too good for khan and has not been a pleasure. Does anybody give this fight a 50/50?
Hm, too many factors to consider. Alexander has fought at a higher level for longer than Khan, that might count for something. Only minus is Alexanders performance against Bradley, then again that same Bradley would have knocked Khan out. Look at their previous opponents and results over the past 2 years, this will count. Its easy looking good against poor opposition, but Khan has struggled with even that (Diaz), whereas Alexander has looked decent with a higher level of comp. Im not sure about measurements, but if i remember correctly doesnt Alexander have a height/reach advantage? I dont see Khan stopping or getting a KD on Alexander, but Devon hits hard enough to get Khans respect. Its going to be a boring, stinky chess match and depends on which Alexander turns up. I feel Devon nicks this, wholly because of Khans poor opposition to the lead up of this fight.
khan has a 1 inch reach and although their height are same from boxingrec, Alexander uses the crouch boxing so he sits lower than khan. I agree on most of your comments. As mention, Khans recent fights has been sluggish compared to Alexander... and with the bolded comment, i hope they do not turn it into a chess match of hit and run fight for 12 rounds..that would stink up the joint quick.
@140 UD Khan domination @147 i'll be more conservative - atleast 8 rounds to Khan UD Losing more than 4 rounds or getting KO'd...I'd be dissapointed in Khan... This should be his first straight up outside range boxing match in a long time...should be good.
That crouch might play him right into Khan's right hand...leaves him in a more square position than is ideal.
Khan will win widely IMO. People talk about Khan's lack of boxing IQ and looking "rehearsed" in the ring, but the latter criticism applies doubly so to Alexander and his short punches. Khan's speed advantage will be apparent from the start and Devon is likely to start fighting as negatively as he did against Bradley IMO.
Looking at Alexander's previous fights he has a HORRIBLE tendancy to pull his punches...He will get slaughtered doing that against Khan...
Valid point. His head is ALWAYS hunched forward just begging to be jabbed all night and hit by a straight right. We saw this happen in the Porter fight and Khan used his lead right with great success in his last outing. Devon also likes to stand in one place and throw combos, leaving his chin unguarded and hands low. He throws back shots right after getting hit to try and counter. This fight may look like Khan-Paulie or Khan-Judah, in my opinion.
