Im Amir's biggest fan and even I know that this fight goes longer than 5 rounds. Hell, Amir himself expects a long night. That said I would love for JIM JIM to be proved right.

No chance in my opinion, I would kind of be surprised if Khan managed to drop him as he doesn't swarm a fighter like Provodnikov or Pacquiao do so I think it could just be a very one sided points win.

I like most think Amir will win but IF he did lose, where would he have left to go with his career? Surely even the offer from brook would seriously decrease if he lost?

I think Khan might be a bit more aggressive in this fight if he thinks he has the beating of Algeri (which in fairness he should) Algeri is a decent fight and has a couple of good wins but coming off a 6KD loss Khan was always going to get a lot of hate for picking him.

Don't think it's to do with being knocked down 6 times by pac it's to do with him being yet another feather fisted opponent that doesn't have one attribute that will trouble Khan

I think Amir will drop Algieri. And given Algieri's perceived lack of fight ending power at world level, and what could potentially be at stake (Mayweather will only have two more fights and one of them is almost certainly a rematch with Pacquiao) this is a fight where Amir simply has to go for a stoppage. I'll put my obvious Amir bias to one side and say this. If Manny Pacquiao had of went for it, he could have stopped Algieri. If a fight with Mayweather was dependent on Manny stopping Chris, then Pacman almost certainly would have recorded a ko/tko. Is Manny a more powerful puncher and better finisher than Amir? Of course he is. BUT, the situation Amir finds himself in is simple and different to Manny: Stop Algieri and he has a chance of securing a fight with Mayweather. Fail to stop Algieri and he has no chance at all of fighting Mayweather. And, maybe Manny fought Algieri with an injured shoulder?? It is not an exaggeration to say that this fight represents the biggest gamble Team Khan will ever take. They have went all in on a stoppage victory over Algieri and ignored (for now) the millions on offer for fighting Kell Brook, in the hope of securing a mega fight with the biggest ppv name in boxing history. And it is a gamble that I believe will pay huge dividends. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

That is a reasonable point you make and im not going to debate it. But the thing is all other bouts (Brook, etc) are fights thst can happen in the future. A push for a Mayweather fight has to happen now. Now, you may say "If he fought Brook and beat him, Khan would have a better chance of securing a fight with Mayweather" and in the eyes of boxing fans, that should be the way to go. The thing is, Kell is not a huge name to the casual American boxing fan, which is precisely the market that TMT aim for. So, even if Amir were to beat Kell, it wouldn't man anything to the casual boxing fan. Algieri, on the other hand has fought Pacquiao and as such is more known to the casual fan. Were Amir able to stop Algieri, it is a selling point for a ppv fight with Floyd. Do I think its fair? No! But its boxing politics, simple as that. As fans we all know that a Floyd-GGG fight is the fight we would want, but there is no chance of that. A Cotto rematch is the lead candidate, but that isnt certain. Bradley is worthy, but the casuals dont realise how great Tim is. Kell Brook is worthy too but TMT won't make that fight. Amir is in a decent spot and in less than a fortnights time could be in pole position.... But he has to stop Algieri.

Khan could have helped his chances for fmj fight by beating a better ww and i think he has the beating of most but nowadays promoters and advisors etc are to worried about a possible loss to take a dangerous fight

Yea I'm of the same opinion. Algeiri is no walk over. But if Khan is 100% focused he will win.

By fighting non punchers khan doesnt help his chances of a fmj as just about every fan in the USA who has heard of him knows he is avoiding punchers and taking low risk fights and they dont want him vs floyd.
He is known for being glass jawed and avoiding punchers and only he can change that by fighting a puncher and i think he could be most but his handlers are too worried
