How is Froch v Johnson better than Khan v Bradley? Glen is something like 10,000 years old and it is a routine belt defense against a O.A.P. I mean, 'shiiiiiittttt' as Clay Davis would say, if Khan was facing a fighter over 40 years old ESB would collapse with the abuse Khan would receive. Khan v Bradley is to unify 3 belts and also includes the Ring belt to decide the undisputed no. 1 JWW, but hey don't let your prejudices blind you:deal
I beg to differ. They aren't trying to become a major force in the production and televising of sport, all they are providing a service to fans of a particular sport (in this case boxing or MMA) to watch events that they ordinarily wouldn't be able to see. If people want to pay £15 to watch a Khan fight, they'll pay it regardless of what's on the undercard. It's worth noting that the undercards of PPV's when Warren was involved were generally good. Primetime are there for big fights Stateside that Sky/Premier don't pick up. Obviously they'll have all the Pacquiao fights and such, but the kind of fights that we saw regularly on Setanta could quite easily end up on here, viewable either at £15 a pop or on a kind of season ticket. Aside from that, their market is self promoted guys like Khan that believe that THEY THEMSELVES are the PPV attraction and not the event, or for other promoters like Hennessy to keep fighters still under his control active. I'd imagine that the deals are structured so that they pay the host broadcaster an amout per buy.... they'll gladly sign up for that because it's money they wouldn't have had.... and there'll be a split with the fighter/promoter %-wise. Obviously they could sharpen up on their advertising, but all in all I think their model is pretty good. I'd imagine their return on their investment is excellent. It's a relatively low risk strategy from them.
Prejudices? Don't make me :rofl Both Froch vs Johnson and Khan vs Bradley are ''trade'' fights, regardless of the baubles on offer, which don't really mean **** all anyway as they (Khan and Bradley) are clearly #1 & #2 in their division. But I'd wager you, start a poll if you like - that most posters on here would predict that Froch vs Johnson would be a more entertaining fight than Khan vs Bradley. A significant % of Khan's fights have been ****, likewise Bradley's..... now how many times have you been bored watching Froch? Dirrell, ok fair enough, but the fights with Pascal, Taylor, Kessler and to a lesser extent Abraham were all edge of the seat affairs..... and Johnson always comes to fight win or lose. Either start the poll or log out :good
Froch / Johnson is a far "better" fight. much more entertaining. despite the greater importance or relevance of a khan bradley fight, it doesn't exactly promise excitement.
Woah, that was the whole point of the 1 & 2 fighters facing each other, it's what all fighters aspire to achieve, prove who is the best in their division inlcluding Froch, especially Froch! I guess this means, according to you, the fight against Andre Ward in the final of the super-six is just another 'trade' fight and effectively meaningless then:deal As for Froch fights, please there are as sloppy as f*ck. Depends on what you like watching I suppose, mindless brawling or boxing...... Calzaghe would have schooled that fool:bbb
**** off.....no power left in the tank rjj and b hop put joe on his arse......... joe retired cos he would have had to face froch and froch would have layed him out cold.
i doubt it. khans shite no power.... watch when he moves up them big ears will be wobbling in a slo mo like the prescott fight.
Where did I say that Khan vs Bradley was meaningless? I said the belts were meaningless. The winner of Khan vs Bradley will be #1 in the division, but that doesn't necessarily make it PPV worthy, or ''must see''. I watch boxing because I enjoy it, and as I've said I find Froch fights more entertaining than Khan fights. Froch vs Ward wouldn't be a trade fight, no - because they've been part of a tournament pitting the best in the division against each other, and it'll have it's own build up and a story behind it..... the fearless Brit vs the classy American gold medallist. Khan vs Bradley doesn't have that angle. ''The Battle of the Overpaid Divas'' doesn't really sell it to me
