This is my thinking and there is definitely genuine dislike for one another It means less now, but I think it will be explosive
The styles and vulnerabilities make it a very interesting fight even if they are shot to pieces. It will definitely be entertaining but no one should buy it as its clear what these matchmakers have done here. However, I will say that Brook vs Khan would have been a slight mismatch back when they were prime. Khan's a 140lber and Brook is a 154lber let's be honest here.
No I don’t care but personally I hope Brook smashes Khan who ducked Brook for years and is only having the fight now because he believes Brook is even more diminished than him.
I never cared that much when they were at their best. At 147 Khan was a b tier fighter while Brook was a solid champion. Brook would have knocked Khan out then and right now the fight is irrelevant to me.
Not as much as I’d have cared if it was 5 years ago, but enough for me to get tickets to the event. Thankfully a mate of mine knows someone on the undercard.
I'll watch, and I'm interested to the extent that I'll follow some of the media and promotional bits, but I would've been keenly awaiting this fight and counting the weeks down around six years or so back, and that's no longer the case. It's more or less just another fight, albeit one I'd still very much like Brook to win.
Kell, as a 147 pounder, had the gumption to fight close to prime GGG when none of the top middleweights did. Massive respect for Kell!!!!
I want to care, I really do, but both have fallen off of my "I can't wait to see their next fight." radar. It's just really difficult to care when neither of them is particularly special anymore. One man hasn't fought in more than a year and the other in more than two. As a boxing fan, I will still watch because a fight between two former legit champs is pretty cool. It's just too bad this didn't happen five years ago.
Could possibly be back and forth, with drama, KD's and scares, the audience popping, could become a trilogy.
