what about this ricky unifys the light welter, AK moves up because he's overgrown 135 and in 09 khan/hatton get it on. this would be the biggest british fight ever (in terms of revenue) a clash of styles, would sell out at wembly and the PPV figures would be huge therefore a fight with pacquiao for ricky wouldn't mean more money and it would be brillient for hatton to pass on the baton a bit like chavez with de la hoya...discuss
i hope it happens because it would be an awesome event, i'm getting goosbumps just thinking about it, imagine the hype and the good it would do for our sport and i think it would be a terrific fight because of the styles com'n ricky put away pastafarian malignaggi and go out with a bang against AK
thats the whole point, these type of fights are what draw the casuel fans and is what the sport needs. don't tell me u wouldn't watch it
This fight in 12 months is very intresting. Hatton could knock Khan out at any times, but ricky cannot take a shot very well any more either, and the speed khan hits at, it would be very possible that Khan could trouble hatton and maybe stop him. anyone that thinks this is 100% hatton fight need to watch Lazcano vs Harris, Harris vs Witter, Witter vs Bradley. then watch Hatton vs Lazcano.
Khan doesn't have enough power to keep Hatton at a distance, and has a Newcastle United style kamikaze defence. Hatton KO4 death by ribcage
From a boxing or event/hype perspective? I think the hype would be nauseating. There is no interest purely from a boxing perspective. Whatever I've said about Hatton, at least he's actually fought a few live bodies and on the world level. Khan hasn't even been at European level, and has struggled with even the lesser domestic fighters (hell he hasn't even fought a Thaxton/Murray yet :nut) Unless Khan goes about proving himself pretty quickly, this fight is never likely to happen, and if it did it would be a blow out given Khan's struggles with lesser fighters that put pressure on him.
good points. there's no doubt that khan is the more skilled, hatton maybe too strong and experienced for him at light welter at this point. however i think ricky's punch resistance is going slightly and seeing lazcano who is effectively a lightweight hurt ricky in that fight i think it would be 50/50
**** off. 1. Khan has been decked by 4 guys who couldn't even put a dent in Hatton. 2. He cannot fight on the inside. 3. He has no defence. All things you need to beat Hatton.
