To me the first 2 options on your poll mean the same thing, a perfectly legal punch. Anyone who's testicles don't hang from their belly button can see that was a perfectly legal punch.
It looked to me like Zab folded mentally in that round. Complaining about the headbutt and then trying to get some deduction for a "low blow". Too bad the ref didn't see it that way.
Getting hit in the bladder is a low blow, Khan landed the punch on the bottom border of the waistline. Was it a low blow??? YES Did Judah over react, HELL YES. JUDAH WANTED NO PARTS OF KHAN ANYMORE. either way Khan was going to win the fight in a very boring fashion.
I thought it strayed kind of low, but above the cup. Judah was trying to evoke sympathy from the ref, though. He should have not let the count go past 8 if he was serious about continuing.
Boxers werar their trunks high to both protect themselves the waistbands do cover the no-foul protectors that they wear, but also to confuse the ref as to what is low and what is not low. Usuly the ref will tell the boxers at the stairdown what is and what is not low. If the blow was below that mark than it should have been ruled a low blow and above it a clean punch.
the ref made it clear in the final instructions mid-ring. However, Judah was beaten and looked to be done.
It looked hip line to me, but it wasn't a Tito Trinidad debilitating sort of hip blow. Vic Drakulich is no Arthur Mercante Jr. - he does his job and no one else's. Preventing someone from bitching out or giving them a kiss to make it all better, after a headbutt, is the corner's job. On a sidenote: Drakulich is starting his 25th year as a referee.
I agree with this--looking at where the ref said would be a low blow at the start of the fight, this would have appeared to be a low blow. I also agree that Judah was done and the beating was only going to get worse.
Judah was leaning forward which caused his trunks to get hit process. it was right on the belt line but no where near the guys balls
Was it a low blow? Yes, it was. No need to sugar coat it, the punch drifted further down that it should have. However, it clearly was not a debilitating punch, and Judah was CLEARLY using it as a controversial way out of the fight. He was absolutely finished and wanted to save himself from a real knockout and further punishment. It definitely wasn't in the ball, unless his are undescended.
A blow its either "legal or illegal" not slightly low or anything else and this shot by the way was a good clean shot.
Reminded me of the Clottey fight. Judah was looking for a way out. Legal punch, no controversy about it for me.
