Just to add, Maidana has a very open stance/defence, this fight will be fireworks, Khan will play a smart game, Khan is going to set Maidana up and make him walk onto alot of shots.

I think that sounds about the right kinda strategy, only concerns I would have with that, is that if Khan is using his speed, throwing combination's of punches, and moving over after punching, that he will surely tire down the stretch?

I do however agree in principle with what your saying, the best way to beat Maidana is to disorganize him, which works into some of Khan's advantages particularly with his speed, straight accurate combination punching, not to mention how open up the middle Maidana is, I guess this fight will come down to what happens around in the latter part of the fight if Maidana is still there.

 

I disagree. But I would argue that Kotelnik has superior timing to Maidana anyway and I think is a more accurate, certainly more textbook puncher. And that was Khan's first fight at world level, he's always improving and I think his defence is okay at this point and getting better.

Close? What fight were you watching Khan pretty much dominated from start to finish. Khan doesn't 'look' to be able to fight inside to you because he simply doesn't, when do we see Khan get dragged into an inside fight? His range control is very good and he's the superior fighter here on the outside or arguably at mid-range.

That was Khan at 135 though, the offensive minded Khan was serious, serious gaps in his defence and obviously before he joined up with Roach. Look how much he's improved since. The chances of Maidana landing the sort of punches that Prescott was allowed to land are slim in my opinion.

For what it's worth, I think Maidana is too wild, has too many gaps in his defence and I think he'll struggle to get past Khan's jab, which is really developing and looks really heavy aswell, and also fail to deal with Khan's straighter punches down the barrel combined with his advantages in handspeed and reach. I think he'll struggle to get to Khan because he won't be able to cope with his offense, and I don't see him cutting off the ring against a fighter who's quicker of foot and moves better around the ring.

 

is will be an easy fight for Khan, I dont actually like the fuucker but he will be too fast for the plodder, he will win by stoppage within 6 rounds
