Khan vs Maidana...Great Fight, but there was nothing IMPRESSIVE about either fighter.

Great Fight for the "Casual fan". Big Shots, Knockdown, Fouls, Blood and a nice crowd. But for the Boxing Fans who love to see impressive Boxing Ability...it was "hit n' miss" (no pun intended). In fact, it was kinda' frustrating to watch one fighter who had all the advantages, yet didn't know how to use them (but he supposedly has the best trainer in the world...right?:-()

Amir Khan is FAST OFFENSIVELY!!!! As long as Khan is in the middle of the ring throwing jabs and combos....he's beautiful to watch. But Damn, How does a fighter continue to get hit over & over & over again by a fighter with NO skill??? Maidana is not fast, or crafty, nor technically sound, he doesn't set up is punches with jabs, feints, movement or angles. Just unloads these WIDE-ASS POWER SHOTS. And a Real Exceptional Skillful Boxer/Technician would not get hit by punches like that CONTINUOUSLY. He would elude, evade and counter that **** ALL NIGHT LONG and would have a complete SHUT-OUT!!!

Do you have any Idea how frustrating it was to watch Khan move in circles, then just STOP for no damn reason then allow Maidana to close distance and unload Body shots and uppercuts with NO IN-FIGHTING nor an ability to slip any of these punches and counter!!! Khan's movement was choppy, with NO rhythm and didn't even try to counter-punch. And even appeared to be gassed by round 8 IMO. Now the reason I am so hard on Khan is because earlier this week Freddie Roach said in an Interview that "Amir Khan has the PERFECT STYLE TO BEAT FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR". And he mentioned his sensational Boxing Ability.

So I watched INTENTLY just to see this sensational Boxing Ability. And what I saw was a kid who is a solid OFFENSIVE BOXER. But is defense is just Terrible, he does know how to make inferior fighters miss, nor knows how to counter-them. This fight should have been a COMPLETE SHUT-OUT!!! And as for Freddie Roach, if he thinks that a 24 yr old fighter, who can't fight on the inside, gets hit by lesser skilled fighters, gets wobbled by these same fighters an has no stamina past 8 rounds is the Perfect Style to Beat Mayweather...Than Roach is FAR MORE DELUSIONAL THAN WE THOUGHT!!!

I'm sorry but you have to grade on a curve. Half the people here grade everyone on the Mayweather and/or Pacquiao standard and then are always sorely disappointed.

None of them are impressive to Darryl because neither fighter is black.

I can already tell no matter the outcome or performance by the winner of Bradley/Alexander Darryl is already locked on them as ahead of Khan as the better performance.

Are you that dense? Maidana is a freak, he gets up from double kidney blows when mere mortals would've stayed on the ground crying in anguish. And after recovering, he shrugs off Khan's punches. And when a guy doesn't fear your punches, you're right ****ed. When Khan was immobile, it's cuz he was trying to NOT get KNOCKED THE **** OUT. That's why he was in full guard.

Darryl is actually right, madaina showed alot of heart but his skill was not good and khan didnt impress me much. It still was a very entertaining fight.

Sometimes when a fighter has flaws it makes the fight really exciting.

I was very disappointed in Khan tonight. He didn't utilise his jab at all in the fight, his key weapon to keep maidana at bay. Although his legs have improved which has helped him take a better shot, his ring IQ and adjustments are still far off, just like Devon Alexander. Bradley appears to be the one who can adapt his game effectively within a fight. I pick him to beat both Devon and Khan at this moment.

Khan is a long way off calling out the likes of mayweather or Pac. He got hit way to much from a one punching methodical maidana, who should not have tagged khan face the way he did throughout the fight.

Great victory to shut up the glass jaw critics, but not a great performance from a guy I have high hopes for. Hopefully he will improve on establishing the jab more in between rounds, because when he let's it go, it's a thing of beauty.

Doesn't matter, outside of the lucky body shots, Khan had not enough power to make Maidana respect him.

I know exactly what you mean...but this fight wasnt about him sticking and moving like he usually does....he wanted to show people that he could take shots...that he could stand and trade....and to do that he take shots which he didnt need to...did you see the after fight interview...he was sayin he wanted to show people he had heart and a chin....i think he'll fight much better in his next fight....back to his boxing...and throwing out that beauty of a jab!

As far as improving his skill set, it won't matter if his punches aren't strong enough. Ring smarts don't mean **** if your opponent walks through your flurries. Maidana was laughing off Khan's combos, the taunting was hilarious even. Marcos is a bad, bad mfer.

There was plenty impressive about both fighters.

Some people are just too blinkered.
