Your thoughts on this..do you think it is justified voting khan's fight as fight of the year as well as martinez as fighter of the year

I thought the Khan fight was unreal and can't see how you could even think about awarding that to another fight.

Fight of the year: I'd of gone with that or Katsidis vs JMM.

Fighter of the year: Hmm hard to say, Martinez only had 2 fights right? You could argue for JMM again who again only had two fights but given the age and quality of opponent it's hard to say. As an outsider Victor Ortiz fought 4 times this year, 3 wins, 1 draw against Petterson, Harris, Campbell and Alatorre who are clearly either long past the level of the other guys opponents or never gonna be at there level but I think points should be awarded for activity.

I don't think anyone really stood out but gun to my head I'd give it to Martinez through lack of choice.

Trainer of the year: Roach for his continued improvement with Amir and keeping Pac man even slightly bothered about such pointless opponents.

Katsidis/Marquez was way too one sided. If there was no knockdown, it would only have just been considered.

But there was :tong And I am really only basing it on my enjoyment of the fights. Marquez still got hit with a few bombs a long the way and showed just amazing ability to time shots with power and precision. Kats showed an absolute warrior determination worthy of the spartan crap he wears to the ring.

I would however say the Khan fight cause for the last two rounds my heart was in my mouth and I was screaming at the tv at 4 or 5 in the morning or whatever it was. However my reaction was mainly cause I'm a Khan fan, I don't know how excited neutrals were.

Lol I felt ridiculous typing it but I just couldn't think of anyone being slightly impressive and the very least Ortiz actually fought a good amount of people. I don't really rate him at all but had he won the Peterson fight (which I tought lost but whatev), I'd consider him for just having fought a lot against a few world class-ish fighters.

Dunno wanted to give it Froch and would have by a land slide had he actually beat Kessler (again I scored the fight to Froch but there you go).

Was gonna say Ward but Kessler was at the end of 2009....

I still think Manny Pacquiao should be fighter of the year. Bashed up Clottey and Margarito, which for a guy his size is still remarkable. Think people are taking Pac for granted now, he's so superior to anyone else around his weight, the only fight that people will give him props for winning is Floyd. Or maybe go up to fight Martinez.

Amir Khan actually had a decent year as well.

I guess Martinez is fair enough though.

I really don't see how anyone can consider Pacquiao's year better than Martinez's. Martinez went in to 2 fights as underdog and done the business in style. Whereas Manny fought Clottey who didn't turn up and Margo who Mosley had already done a job on.

I don't consider him up there because he didn't test himself in my opinion. Clottey and less so Margarito were basically punching bags from start to finish. Good fighters but I don't think Pac man proved anything we didn't already know, like he won't against Mosley.
