Reyes is known for their vicious pop and being "the puncher's gloves". But Winning is the new kid on the block and becoming more and more popular. Look at the price of Winning vs. even Reyes and you'll see why Winning is carving a niche as the new standard not just in sparring but also in the ring. There was even talk of the CA State Athletic Commission shifting to these "pillows with pop" post Cheato fight.

I did find it odd that they were described as ''pillows'' yet they are used almost always in Thailand and Japan and there are some very big punchers over there. Uchiyama, Poonsawat, Nishioka, etc. Even Roman Gonzalez and he's up there with the hardest hitters in the sport.

I think we're overestimating the importance of gloves when we're actually questioning how fighters can have such KO records when they wear certain gloves. Bottom line is any 8 or 10oz glove, whatever way its padded + a big puncher = KO.

The gloves Jamie Moore had on V's Ryan Rhodes looked like giant marsh mellows.
