Good advice from Nacho. He clearly wants the best for his fighters - and how taking on a fighter in a weight class you're not comfortable in, who's also a horrible style match-up for you, would be in JMM's best interests I don't know.

It was also sadly predictable that some people would try and call this ducking.

Khan and Marquez were at the same weight not long ago.

And Marquez has fought at a higher weight than Khan.

    Duck!

Sounds like his trainer has lost all faith in JMM and wants him to fight an easy fight and retire. If JMM is as shot as his trainer seems to be implying then why should JMM fight Khan and get destroyed? Should Ricky Hatton fight Khan? Khan certainly cannot criticise JMM for it as he is running away from Maidana himself.

I suppose you could call it a duck, but JMM isn't obliged to fight Khan.

Its hardly a duck if you turn your back on inferior opposition to fight the better opponent

    Eh

marquez was really a career feather / superfeather he only moved up to chase Pacquiao , he's what 4 inches shorter 13-14 years older ?

its sadly clear Khan is heading down the Calzaghe / Hatton route.

Styles make fights. Maidana's style is a nightmare for Khan. Maidana is a banger and a more dangerous fight for Khan. Just because he is chasing a more established fighter, it is still a duck. Khan is afraid of Maidana and wants to get a decent win before he has to face him.

It was an out an out duck. You would have to be blind see it as anything other than that.

Not suprising. Khan-Marquez was mismatch waiting to happen. Khan would've destroyed him imo

Wait....Marquez JUST fought arguably the BEST fighter on the planet. Why would he fear Khan? It is about money and legacy. Beating Khan won't enhance his legacy. Not one bit.

He also got destroyed by one of the best fighters on the planet. Size difference was a big factor. Khan has this size advantage over JMM too. Not to mention his blisteringly fast hands. He is a stylistic nightmare for Marquez imo.

I seriously doubt that. He's already left Warren and gone to America. He's what, 23? and already in the mix, he's got time. Being linked with a possible fight with Marquez shows he's not going down that route.
