eh can some one explain to me why in gods name amir khan is not fighting jmm in april ? there not even negotiating a fight with each other which is ridiculous because its the biggest and most lucrative fight for both right now.

why is khan having a tune up ? wanting to fight in england against weak opposition like mccloskey, peterson, john murray and all these other b and c level fighters is bull**** why bother ? he's coming off his biggest win against maidana so he's got great momentum dont waste this fight on a c level guy when the oppertunity to fight a legend is there. i mean would it not be better for his career if he fought marquez instead of say mccloskey ?

and again with marquez wat other fight out there is bigger for him ? none. plus he'll has the chance to become the first mexican four divisional world titlest why would he not want it ?. their both promoted by the same company so it should be easy to make especially since gbp plan on doing some kind of ppv in april

i think this fight should be made right now

He wants something moderatly testing but nothing too risky especially since he just fought Maidana, he's waiting for the Bradley Alexander winner.

marquez has his own plans. Khan would beat him and his path would stop.
Also khan just wants a easy stay busy fight, he will settle for a English guy.

JMM has yet to move up to 140, and Khan wants to unify the division next after just having a tough fight.

but he could be waited for the bradley/alexander winner right now they fight next week why schedule another fight ? it doesnt make sense theres no reason to fight anything other than a great fighter next time out the options are there. just dont understand why he he wouldnt

supose he wants to look good for sure without any real bad ass risk,so he can wow the unkown people of khan,to get new fans in uk,and gain higher popularity here like hatton had.

he doesnt want to risk so much as looking anything but amazing in his next fight,he needs to be dominating and entertaining so to win, gain fans, and still be on track for alexander or bradley.

i still think he could easily beat prescott, which would earn him so much money, and shut up all haters.even though i think maidana is even more powerful and dangerous than prescott anyway!.

and yes khan beating marquez would seem like a big achievement for marquez's history and name, but its really a lightweight p4p legend vs a fast young, skillfull light welter.

i can see khan outboxing marquez with footwork, reach and combinations, doing an even more convincing job than floyd, despite marquez not being as bloated in a light welterweight fight.

Because during this time, JMM had been in talks with Morales. This fight will also be in the UK, where JMM will unlikely be willing to travel to. Khan can pretty much fight anyone he likes and it'll still be worthy for Sky and the British public. A Khan-JMM fight can be saved for another time in the US, and generate the interest it deserves.

yes im aware of that but bradley and alexander are fighting next week why not just go straight into negotiations with the winner ? whats the wait for he's clearly good enough to beat those two and marquez so just go ahead and do it

Ok fair enough he can save the marquez fight for later but why not just fight the bradley/alexander winner now and then marquez ?

my point is i dont see why he should be wasting a fight beating some small level guy when he could be beating a top level guy no need to downgrade compition after your biggest win

Does it matter - he's staying busy, this is a good thing. No fans will be ripped off buying PPV to see it. The point is to be sharp for the Bradley/Alexander winner. Not to be in 2 wars just prior. Frankly, I don't like Khan all that much, but he has too much for Marquez. Too large and too fast.

Because Khan wants to fight 3 times this year. If he waits for the Bradley-Alexander result, the earliest he could then make a fight with the winner of that, would be around June/July. He'd have remained inactive for around 7 months by then. That's too long for a fighter of his age. And not only will this tune-up allow him to stay active, but it will also give him another training camp to work on a few things. That's what their main concern is, I think. They know Khan has a bit of work to do before he's ready to take the winner of those two - most likely Bradley.

he's planning to fight mid april im sure he could wait an extra 3 or 4 weeks and fight in may he'l know next week wether or not the bradley/alexander winner will be good to fight in 3 1/2 months from now. i think he should just go for that

But you need to take into consideration Bradley or Alexander needing a rest after their fight. Then of course are the available HBO and Sky dates which they have to chase. Their imending clash can easily be pushed further back to late Summer. Considering the work Khan needs doing on his game, it's just too risky for him to sit idle for that long and not fine-tune his current deficiencies.

Simply put, if Khan walks straight into a Bradley fight now... he'll lose.

    No doubt.
