With all the talk going around it seems Mayweather vs Khan will be the next fight for FMJ in May. Question I have is why? Here is what's going through my head right now. FMJ put Danny Garcia vs Lucas Matthyste on the undercard of the One to make it seem like he would fight the winner. It seems to me if Matthyste had won a legitimate arguement would of been made for FMJ to fight him since he is so heavy handed. But since Danny won no one seems to care??? Danny Garcia K.O. Amir Khan when they fought. So doesn't it make sense to fight Danny since he beat Khan? If Danny could get through Khan this should be a walk in the park for Floyd and brings no real challenge. Esp if there is a guy out there more deserving of the opportunity. A rumor leaked out that Amir Khan was next in line to fight Floyd. Khan denied it but Floyd camp never did. Floyd Mayweather Senior has been vocal in the past about wanting to fight Amir Khan. Roger Mayweather stated that Amir Khan even was a sparring partner for FMJ. If there is was a point to be made shouldn't it been done or seen in sparring? In the most recent news Amir Khan seems to be pulling out of the Devon Alexander fight. Cause if he blows it he will have NO chance at getting the FMJ fight. If Khan actually beat Devon somewhat of an arguement can be made tht he is deserving of a FMJ fight. But tht seems to be gone. My most important question. Just because a fighter is more popular does that equate to thts a fight the people want to see? We all know Floyd can cash out big time from this fight. But what is he proving? How strong he is? Can he knock someone out with a notoriously glass jaw. Or is he just trying to take a safe fight and "give the causal boxing fan" what they want in a k.o. by Floyd. ... Being a FMJ fan I'd still pay to see anyone he fights. But if I have to pay to see Khan fight I'd rathar see someone like Broner fight. Thoughts ?
Not much out there and this is the biggest pay he can get. These Khan - Mayweather and why threads need to stop. Khan is going to fight him in one of the 4 more fights he has left. Garcia will be one of them too. If the why question still bugs you, then throw out some better names. And please don't go to the 160 weight class...
How do you know that Amir has pulled out? Apparently, they can't agree with Devon as each of them seem to want the lion share of the purse. May Sr says a lot of stuff, it doesn't automatically mean Khan is the front runner for a shot. Anyway, it makes the most money out of all the possible fights out there for Floyd, and plenty of people will tune in to see Khan vs Floyd.
I would like to see floyd fight in U.K, hopefully not khan though :-( will be a waste of floyds fights left.
No I think the 160lb weight class is foolish the guys are too big . But believing Floyd will fight a Top Rank fighter is foolish too. It really limits his competitors. Especially since he said he won't fight Broner either. Only people left are Garcia Khan Alexander Maidiana and the local dishwasher at ihop. That's where my biggest question lies just because you have a big fan base does it equate to a fight people want to see? But yes the Khan fight will earn big money. But it's only proving that he can beat people Danny Garcia can
You could say that about plenty of Floyd's previous opponent, only a select few had an unbeaten record. Floyd has always cared about getting the most money and who can blame him, with Khan he's definitely going to get that. It's really up to Floyd as to who he's going to fight next. Who else is there apart from Khan? Devon? He just doesn't sell. Thurman? Still building him up. I've heard that Al Haymon is getting Danny G' more publicity, so they seem to need more time to build him up in order to get the most possible amount of money against Floyd. At the moment that's the fight that makes most sense, but it won't do as well as a potential fight with Amir.
