I may be wrong, but I've only ever noticed Mayweather use the uppercuts on stationary targets on the inside. Khan may not stay there long enough to be caught by one. Instead, when he over-reaches, I think Mayweather will smack him with a check-hook. And I have a sneaky feeling, that the fight may look similar to the second half of Pascal-Hopkins 1. Khan on his bike trying to maintain distance, and Floyd being forced to hunt him down with hooks to the body and straight rights.
Mayweather threw two uppercuts against Ortiz in round 4 as Ortiz jumped in (I want a gif of Mayweather unleashing those combinations in the 4th...I can't find one though), that's the only reason why I mentioned the uppercut. I didn't expect Mayweather to throw it, but I could see him using it as Khan tends to do the same thing (although not entirely the same) Ortiz does, chin over front knee. Khan doesn't tend to lean over as much as Ortiz when he overreaches though, so you're probably right...the check hook, or making Khan walk in to the straight right. I was impressed with how easy Mayweather cut the ring off against Ortiz, but that could have been a combination of Ortiz not being a very good mover on the ropes. Khan isn't the greatest at fighting backwards, or fighting under pressure with his back against the ropes...from what I have seen. Would be interesting to see Mayweather be the stalker in that situation.
I do think if they both met in the ring tomorrow Floyd would win. However of every fighter in and around 147 based on style alone Khan has a massive chance. You saw in his last fight with Zab his foot work has improved! His head movement is back and when you look how much Floyd used the jab against Ortiz you have to then think who would win the war of Jabs alone between Floyd and Khan..... It has to be Khan. Then you need to look at speed. I dont think Floyd has slowed as much as people say he looked pritty quick to me against Ortiz. But i still would give the edge to Khan. Accuracy,Skill, footwork, chin and defence go to Floyd. But Im starting to wonder how good Floyds heart is! He has not been tested in years and fights for the money not the love of the sport. I do think if they met late 2012 Khan has a real real chance of scoring the decision against Floyd. He will be in and out quick firing a few combo's then running. Its funny i cant see how some people are so blind to the ability Khan has as a fighter.
Its funny when Khan went from 135-140 every one said he would get knocked out! he has no chance! He then beats every one and gets ducked by the "no1" fighter Timothy Headbutt Bradley. All the sad haters just kept boring people with the same **** they always say! Now Khans going to 147 and there saying the same thing! You not starting to notice a patern here :rofl Khan is currently walking around at 149 so I'm looking forward to seeing what Ariza is going to do with him now.
Speed beats speed, Khan just needs a few more adjustments, people who think Khan would be in there with Floyd to make up the numbers are fooled big time, Khan will be there to beat Floyd make no mistake and has a good chance to pull it off. Speed Kills
