Probably been a thread on here in the past, and bringing up old topics. I'm fairly new to this and new to boxing in general.

Saw am article earlier where Khan blames himself for the Mayweather fight not happening.
Had it happened, does anyone think he stood a chance? I ask this because I think 'Money' lacked genuine power, and I believe Khan would have been far too quick for him. His speed is frightening.

I personally think Mayweather ducked it as it was possibly the worst styled match up it could have been for him.

Combine how quick Khan flys in, with his suspect chin, Mayweathers footwork, timing and accuracy, your telling me Khan stands a chance?

Mayweather would have him looking like bambi all night.

Khan like most his fights at top end world level will look a million dollars for 3/4 rounds then begin to unravel when his opponent gets use to his speed .

    Mayweather possibly stops him late

Mayweather puts him on his ass a few times in the fight on his way too a comfortable points victory

Khan slows down too much and too easy to read to do anything against may weather for any sort of prolonged period. Khan would make a good start before being worked out and beat up. I still say to this day mayweather's power was good.

Hence the reason it discouraged most of his opponents from coming forward for long. Probably down to his accuracy...but its still kind of power if you think about it. I think may weather would have stopped him...khans not bright enough to stop going forward. He really only has one way of fighting.

I do think mayweather avoided it tho...he seemed to avoid fast fighters. Think judahs the only one I can think of he did fight and he didn't look all that comfortable with his speed in the early going. Mosley too old to be regarded as fast at that stage. He didn't really like hattons footspeed either. Seemed to be plenty of Guerrero, baldomir, corralles, old mosely, old de LA hoya, Ortiz, berto, canelo, maidana, types. Not many speed guys in that CV at all. Makes you think he did actual avoid guys that we,re fast. Seemed to stay away from pacman when he was at his quickest as well.

I’d have backed Floyd to win a close fight after struggling with speed early on. But it’s a valid argument to suggest that Floyd ducked it. He made a poll for his next opponent which Khan won and he proceeded to box Maidana. There’s no embellishment or mistruth there.

People are severely overrating Khan here . Mayweather had no power seriously cmon his timing and accuracy second to none . Danny Garcia isn't a one punch ko look he did to Khan. Amount of times Khan wobbled in his career .mayweather would have gaged him early maybe lost 1-3 rounds then worked out distance timing and stopped him 7-8 rounds. Far far better fighters on floyds cv than Khan. Khan so overrated because he is fast suspect chin defence and ring iq and if anyone accused of ducking it's Khan even with his ko losses majority his fights aren't murderous punchers but still likely he will be hurt. Mayweather didn't duck him Khan was desperate for a big payday similar to way Brook is with Khan now

I think Khan would have been all wrong for Floyd I'm glad it didn't happen tho cos the backlash of him winning would be ridiculous. He would have thought (and some other fans) that he was the greatest fighter UK ever produced and p4p no1. Close fight and I have always thought Khan would have edged it.

Khan has many flaws but the positives he possess' are exactly what u needed to beat Floyd late in in his career. Garcia could whack at 140 power hasn't really carried thro to 147 tho

I know, the gulf in class is massive. Makes me laugh when people think fight would have even been close, let alone Khan winning. Brook would have gave Mayweather a tougher fight than Khan but still wouldn't have beat Mayweather.

Khan had speed. But he could never keep it up for 12 rounds and would deplete after 5 with a 2nd wind of a round or two later on
Floyd had timing, accuracy, defence and most important of all, a boxing brain which served him the same no matter what round he was in.
Khan would of won some rounds but I just can't see him beating Floyd back then.
I do remember the poll Floyd did, where he then proceeded to fight maidana but that was a publicity stunt all along. Maidana sold better than Khan and that's the only poll Floyd is interested in.
