Khan was too predictable and didn't know how to move his head off center line. He has world class footspeed and top 0.0000001% handspeed, but there's no variety to his game, he can't mix his attacks, he's awful at controlling the tempo of a fight, etc etc. I expect he could win a couple of early rounds, Judah did too and Floyd needs a minute to get used to what's coming at him. But after a few rounds of the same exact **** over and over again Floyd would work him out and khan would be out of the fight.
Khan would have sold better than maidana, I don't think that's really debatable, Chino is certainly not box office
Against Floyd he did 900,000 buys in the first fight, that's about the same as Hatton. You think Khan would of done more?
Yup. Floyd's star was at it's peak then and Khan had more interest around him than Chino did. I don't think it'd have been a better fight but I think Floyd didn't pick khan likely due to a personal dislike rather than belief Chino would sell more.
I agree with nearly everyone else. Mayweather didn’t have concussive power but his timing was incredible, and his counter shots would dismantle an otherwise solid chinned fighter piece by piece. Khan is a brave lad with lightning fast speed but the old cliche that timing beats speed has cost him particularly in his last two defeats imo. He stays in the pocket too long, gets greedy with his successes and ends up too vulnerable to a big shot. On a separate note, I felt that although he dominated most of the fight with Maidana, had it been in Britain with a ref like Howard Foster, it would have been stopped in the 10th round.
Khan would have looked good for 3 rounds max and then Mayweather would of broke him down and stopped him before 10
Some of the replies in this thread are hilarious. Khan would have absolutely no chance against Mayweather, none.
Floyd wins easy. Khan would off set Floyd for 2 or 3 rounds by then Floyd would be timing Khan with his predictable straight forward flurries....steadily break Khan down to a late rounds mercy stoppage.
Yeah not been posting that much been on from time to time to have a gander was also away for four weeks in florida. The boxing has been a bit quieter recently but some great fights to look forward to in the close of the year. Cheers tho bud
Pretty sure there would have been some along the way when you take into account his whole career. Most boxing records have a lot more names on them with faster fighters than mayweather had. He defo avoided pacman till he was out his great period when he was lightening fast. I think he would have beat fast fighters anyway but unlike most of the top guys...he doesn't have many of them on his Cv throughout his career. They seemed to avoid them if they could help it. Think your point shows there wasn't many fast fighters in the mold of khan and Judah tho tbh. I still think the tier down in terms of speed...we,re sidestepped in favor of guys that had either slowed...or we,re a bit one dimensional. Although tbf their one dimension was usually good. Slow footed guys seemed to be prefered. May weather himself always did say it was about timing...taking the fights at the right time. Was part of that about when some of them had slowed down a bit. My basis of that comment tho we,re on his behavior tbh specifically khan. Khan was avoided no ones really sure why. Pacman was avoided when he was lightening fast. He struggled with hattons footspeed. And he fought a lot of guys that we,re either quite slow or had slowed with age. Its certainly not proof...but makes you wonder if their was something in it.
