There's no point talking about a McCloskey's fight. That's well and truly buried.

Khan's Team have declined the offer that Hearn kept changing.

    Talks are Murray or Peterson.

Told that Paul McCloskey may not come to terms with Amir Khan, now John Murray may get the assignment. That's not a bad fight #boxing

the last all british world title fight sold well (despite being a bit of a mismatch) so khan-murray would prob be a massive success. i wonder would murray be willing to move up in weight, i assume he would have to relinquish his euro title if he did? i can't see murray winning this, looks like a lot of risk for very little reward...

dare i say, unless the money on offer is very good!!

Khan should announce that he will shadow box for 12 rounds.

Murray is a big lightweight who has fought at 140 quite a few times in the past. He's even fought at 147 before, as well as 154! I'm sure he'll have no problem in moving up 5 pounds to fight Khan. In fact, he's even had problems in the past with making 135. Against Scott Lawton was it?

They tried to organise that, but his shadow keeps pricing itself out of the fight! ;)

It is a problem when you only have 10weeks to go up, he's only going to be able to add perhaps a pound in effective weight

do not want to see Khan vs Murray. Murray will get KO'd in 3 rounds.

And 10 weeks is a short time? Going up in weight - especially if you're a fighter who's been struggling to make your current limit - is an easier burden to deal with. It's not a problem at all. If anything, it'll help him.

They're too drained to make the current weight, and too small to go up one. Got it. :good

10 weeks is a very short time. Gaining weight is easy, yes in 10 weeks someone could add a huge amount of weight to their body. The issue is the value of that weight. To add effective weight, weight in muscle, you need around 3 weeks per pound, PRIOR to your actual training camp. Gaining positive muscle mass in camp is effectively impossible due to high levels of cardiovascular acvitity and calorie usage. (Unless you are Danny Williams, training on 1 cherry bakewell per punch thrown)

However... I just hope Murray has been spending the last couple of weeks wisely on the off hope that he could get the bout. If he has perhaps it's achievable he can come in,within a reasonable margin of being in shape and on weight... he needs Alex Ariza :)
