probably will be Murray...I'd rather see Khan fighting an actual LWW...but Im not too fussed about the fight now, if hes now fighting a Lightweight, think I'll watch it in a bar, and spend the extra £15 or whatever it is, on drinks.

It would be a sly one if Khan pretended to Murray he got the fight, so Murray vacates the Euro belt, then Khan fights someone else, leaving Murray with no belt and no fight...those 2 dont get along do they?

Hope Murray doesn't vacate until the ****ract is signed.

twitter@stevemaxboxing Yep, I got the inside scoop. HBO rejected Murray as an opponent. Deal agreed with Peterson to be announced in 48 hours.

HBO? Surely Sky would have more influence in this fight as it's going to be in the UK. It better not be a 2/3am UK job again

Hahaha I just heard about this

Asif Vali will be fuming and no doubt wishes he had given Mccloskey a better offer!

This is one of those moments in boxing that rarely happens.. where greed and desire to give the public effectively a dud contest and in the process make someone a lot of money.. IS SHOT DOWN from those above, and instead the correct match up is enforced.

I'm going to go off on one of my rants here, but this is precisely what Frank Warren warned Khan about when he left to go with GBP. He said something along the lines of "Theres going to be no more easy fights, for all the financial benefits you are going to get, with it will come equal danger"

Khan Vs Murray is what Frank would do in this situation, it's a great one to promote, low risk, easy to do, and come fight week with all the work in the papers and so on, the "Biggest all British class since Benn Eubank" would sell well...Khan would win obviously. Sadly however Khan isn't playing that game anymore...

On behalf of boxing fans, thank you HBO.
