What happened was TK sent Witter an offer.. Witter agreed to it. They said "Ok, we'll get back to you"... Sky said no. Probably rightly so. Junior mistakenly just assumed his YES, meant it was done. Short of Peterson demanding a sum that makes the fight impossible, I'd say it isn't going to be Witter. 18 month lay off in combination with telling Sky he can no longer make 140 put the nails in the coffin for them.
Don't forget how Witter performed in that last fight. One of the most embarrassing performances ever by a British fighter in the ring.
I've just finished listening to the interview in full, and Witter towards the end then says "But Team Khan have other options as well". Bloody hell, Junior. So it's not a done deal then!
Yeah.. you can also see where he starts talking about Sky have problems with it that deep down he knows himself it isn't gonna happen
Team Khan are not intrested in a exciting fight and worth while night for the fans. There simply looking to get the cheapest acceptable opponent possible.
Petersons team have said the projected revenue for the fight is $4-5million. So any opponent getting offerd $300k or lower is complete bull****.
Have you got a link for this Peterson claim? If they honestly think that they are completely insane. It's like 2 million dollars maximum in revenue and that's being generous
I've been saying this for some time. Team Khan wil fight the cheapest option out of Peterson, Murray, Prescott, Mclosey etc.
Steve Kim said it on a boxing radio show were not allowed to mention. $2million maximum are you ****ing crazy? They will make $1.5mil just from the MEN.
Perhaps I should say purse, not revenue, to make it clear. Yeah. I'm sure it could feasibly do 1.5million dollars in takings from MEN, together with perhaps 150-200PPV buys.... but you have staging costs, promotion, paying everyone involved their cut. The purse at the end is a shrivelled figure of those numbers. If I had to hazard a guess how much for this bout, I'd say there would be just over 1 million pounds - 20%, £200K, if I was Peterson that is what I'd be looking for
my question is...concerning witter, if he does get the fight with khan....does his next opponent, Victor Puiu, if he beats him, give him enough standing ranking-wise to challenge for a belt ? Puiu has a good record on paper...but where is he in world rankings or wba rankings ?
