Khan makes his eagerly anticipated comeback after a devastating KO loss against Garcia. What do you guys think will the major change(s) we will see in Khan's style since he has teamed up with Virgil Hunter. I'm guessing a stronger and frequent jab and tying Molina up every time he tries to get inside. I think he's not gonna bounce around as much and pick his shots, rather than throw wild combinations. What do you guys think?
Hard to tell. Khan doesn't strike me as the type of fighter who can change and adapt well, and he's only had one training camp with Hunter. From what I've heard, Hunter is trying to make him more patient and intelligent in the ring, focusing on his general mentality and also on his decisions when he gets hit with a good shot. In terms of technique, the only footage I've seen appeared to be Khan trying to learn how to divert the opponent's attention with a feint, and then land a combination as they walk in. He also seems to be trying some sort of style involving extending his lead arm quite a lot, like he's measuring distance and/or keeping someone away. I don't expect much from Khan, but I'm curious to see how he does under a trainer like Hunter.
Khan will return to his normal self as soon as Molina lands the first punch, speaking of Molina, I need to watch him fight.
he's gonna look fantastic vs a featherfisted, untested lightweight. and there will actually be some british posters dumb enough to claim he's back and they'll even get cocky about it and talk about how garcia is ****ed in a rematch.
molina will **** khan up. He will adopt mares style. It will be mares-moreno 2.0 :deal molina will KO that dumb**** khan
He's going to look more patient. I think his natural evolution was always to become more flat-footed, and he looked more calm in the Garcia fight doing so until he started retaliating grazing counters and then eventually got caught with hard ones. I think Khan is going to focus on blocking and parrying shots without scurrying away and setting his offense up a lot smarter. People underestimate what a young talented guy can accomplish when given a fresh start.
