Khan isn't going to learn anything from a msimatch. This is a dreadful fight and will further his progression. It's another Salita. Khan got knocked out. It's not like he has been through a 12 round war where he took a severe, Duran/Moore-like beating. He was winning a fight, got hit and because he's got a glass jaw, he got knocked out. It's as simple as that. He doesn't need a soft touch fight.
"Unbeaten young fighter" is the type of line Frank would use when he brings over a fat eastern European. The opponent is a million miles away from world class and shouldn't be in the ring with Khan. Khan should have been looking at someone like Soto or Guzman not a young lad who has never beaten anyone of note and drew not so long ago against a fighter who has fewer than 50% of his fights. Atrocious fight.
It's not about learning in the fight. It's about learning with his new trainer, getting into a rhythm with him. He doesn't need a soft touch? Please, don't give me that. Who do you expect? Like I said, it's his career. Where will you be if he loses his next fight? I'm annoyed how everyone wants him and every other British fighter to just go up up up and then when they lose, everyone shits on them. ****ing DeGale gets shat on and he's only had about 10 pro fights and is a European champion. Ridiculous. Is Amir heading towards the end of his career? no. Is he 35? no. He's young and he needs a fight where he can get his confidence up and establish a relationship with his new trainer. if you don't understand that from his perspective, then sorry, but I think that's ridiculous.
The man got stretched in his last fight and his gonna' be under the tutelage of a new trainer. Taking a soft opponent for his first fight back shouldn't be that much of a shock. It's a confidence builder and it provides time to settle with Hunter.
So Molina has never been in a 12 rounder before?! What a difference a year makes, he was talking up a Mayweather fight this time last year and now he's fighting some unknown on Austin Trouts undercard.
Someone decent? Someone who has the capability of landing a few punches and the boxing ability to avoid some? Maybe someone like Ajose or Soto, who wouldn't beat Khan, but at least they present something of a threat. Molina drew a few fights ago against a guy who hasn't even won 50% of his fights, for ****s sake. This is a complete and utter mismatch. It does nothing for Khan and it does nothing for the fans, who should be given a better bout. You're taking a valid point that Khan needs to step down in class and going to an extreme with it. If Wladimir Klitschko loses against Wach, he should take a lesser opponent in his next fight. He shouldn't fight someone like Ali Adams. I understand the need for a soft touch fight. I just don't support the idea that you go from one extreme to the other. I'm not demanding Khan fights Matthysse. I just want something acceptable. The Molina fight is not acceptable, in any way. Speaking of the fans, how much do you think the tickets will be for this one? Considering it's a mismatch which could end in one round, do you think the prices will be appropriately matched to the competitiveness of the bout? If so, I'd expect you could get a ticket to sit between Adam Smith and Jim Watt for a fiver. However, we both know that won't be the case. Fans will, yet again, be charged extortionate amounts for a **** fight that is sold as legitimate. It's wrong and it hurts the sport, because all those casual fans who pay their hard earned money for a good fight, will be ripped off yet again because they've been sold a pathetic mismatch.
Well Soto was given the choice, and he refused for whatever reason, so it's not like they were looking for absolute nobodies. I think Ajose is way too hard of an opponent for Amir. Too durable, too awkward, too risky. A threat is what they would possess and while I can see your point, what I'm trying to say is, if he were to lose, it would be absolutely over which is why I'm not going to criticize him. It probably is a mismatch and it may do nothing, but as I have said, it's about building his confidence back up and establishing a relationship with his new trainer. Well right now, if I was Amir, I wouldn't give a flying **** about the fans in all honesty, because if he's in a great fight and loses but the 'fans' like who it is, it's not us who will suffer, it will be him. Yes, but Wladimir wouldn't be losing two fights in a row, would he? Amir Khan has, and one by knockout. Also, it would not be over for a guy like him. For someone like Amir, if he loses his THIRD fight in a row, it's over. No one would believe in him, would they? The prices? Well for one, I expect it to be on the undercard of Cotto-Trout, not on it's own and I expect it to be free on Sky Sports, which it will be. They won't be charged extortionate amounts for anything. It takes a bit of common sense that they wouldn't go to Vegas and try to headline a fight like this. Yeah, it hurts the sport, yet we have so many bull**** robberies and other great mismatches such as Canelo-Lopez, yet you feel the need to absolutely **** on this fight, while not taking into consideration that Khan is one fight away from being out of the sport if he loses? You don't have to pay for it, because you won't need to, unless you don't have Sky Sports. Or, don't even watch, because at the end of the day, his career is on the wire. I know what you're saying about it being quite a leap in levels, but you've just gotta see it from his perspective. Not for selfish reasons such as "wanting a good fight".
That's what annoys me about these fights because they're never sold as what they are. It's like Frank saying that Cleverly's next opponent has "fought Adamek" but he fought Tomas Adamek, not Tomasz Adamek. It's a bull**** con that casual fans lap up, pay good money for and then on fight night, realise they've been conned. It hurts the sport.
but where are amirs balls and heart there is a differance between brave and stupidity for millions of $$$$$$$$ if he was so confident he beat maidana easily reamatch him or presscott show some of them balls everyone bangs on about, seriously i wont watch this **** if he is being paid top dollar he should be made to fight a worthy opponent, the easy pay days should be so far out of reach for this guy its unreal and LAZ froch as lost twice and carried on fighting world level opponents whats different with your boy why does he need so much charitable treatment:conf
Man, read my posts. I'm not going to explain again, and if you don't understand, then read a book. There's a huge difference between Froch's losses and Khan's losses, and I don't mean level in opposition.
The guy drew against an out and out journeyman and is utter dog ****, Mccloskey for all his slack isn't that bad, he's just very average.
you mean khan as had to face reality and now knows he aint on the same level as froch, 12 months back he was having it as being superior to froch. when the world kicks back it can be a mother ****er eh :!:
