No way. A prime Naz also KO's Khan in 6. Maybe before that if he found his range and Khan left his defence wide open like he usually does.
Not in my opinion. Khan has quite a lot of talent and was definitely a very impressive amateur fighter, but Naseem was one of the most talented boxers I've ever seen. Hamed would never have had a problem with someone like Limond -- he would have toyed with him and laughed while doing so.
i have only been watching boxing for about 5 years. i remember the naz days because he was a great character but i never really saw him fight, was it a shock to most people when he lost to barrera?
No no real shock that he lost. The manner of the loss was disapointing but kind of expected. His entire training camp leading up to the fight was a joke. Naz in his prime would have done better against Barrera but I still do not think he would have won.
Naz would land to much power shots for khan not to be dropped i think naz would possibly win by KO or TKO. khan is good but i do not think he can handle a puncher like naz and his speed and ring craft
By British standards he was great but by the time he met Barrera he had faded. At Naz's ideal weight he could match just about anyone, just a shame we never really got to find out. He out classed so many good fighters.
I disagree I seem to remember he was the bookies favourite. Though I remember Glenn McCrory favoured Barrera.
Yep. Naz was no underdog but he was no overwhelming favorite either, that's why I said it was no shock. I think by the time that fight had come Naz was never going to beat a focused Barrera but at the time he looked to be in for a good chance.
Prime Naz v Current Khan? No contest, Naz would KO him in rounds 1 or 2, unless he decided to showboat for the crowd; the man was great in his prime, when he was under Brendan Ingle. As far as the Barrera thing goes Naz was caught in an awkward situation, that being that he had dominated a weakish division for a long time, and he had thrown the good skills he had learned under Ingle out the window, relying too much on his power to get out of trouble versus Kelley, Sanchez and Alicea. Whether he dodged a fight with Juan Manuel Marquez is open to debate, but the fact is that JMM was his mandatory for a good couple of years. The **** really hit the fan when Barrera and Morales simultaneously jumped up from Super Bantamweight. He had to fight one or the other, or else make the jump to Super Featherweight, but then he was in a real strong division at the time, which I think contained an unbeaten Mayweather and Corrales.
