Rico, I don't think it's beggining of negotiations. These guys were ready to sign. It was actually set. There's suddenly become a high money demand from Team Peterson. I wouldn't cry too much if it didn't happen anyway.
Agreed. Fight Prescott to erase some doubts, then face the winner of Bradley-Alexander. Seems like a logical move.
Khan already has a SKY PPV date and a venue booked for April 16th.. so he needs an opponent. I dont think they'll bother with prescott of khan is really now past that level. Available fights are.. Maidana rematch.. (risky) Ortiz Marquez (risky and probably too little time to promote such a big fight) Guzman !!! or someone like Diaz or Urango
Khan has plenty of money plus he's bound 2 be confident. Easy fight so why do you need to get paid loads? Peterson has to work just as hard & will probably get beat which is never nice plus will affect his future earnings. It takes 2 to Tango. Give Peterson what he deserves.
No, I'm afraid not, but telling from the Maidana fight.. I can't find the source now but if the Khan/Maidana fight happened in the UK, HBO would have put up $750,000. If it was in the U.S, it was $2.1 Million (Roughly, I can't remember), but from that you can see there's a significant difference and I'd expect the same for this fight.
I imagine it's in the hundreds of thousands. Because if I remember correctly, Maidana was given an offer of around £400,000, but Maidana was asking triple the amount. It'll be a little less, but I can imagine Peterson's team asking for a figure of that amount.
this could be a blessing in disguise, he wouldn't need a massive training camp to fight prescott, which is the fight I want to see, then by the time that fights over (assuming he wins of course) he could sign with the alex/brad winner.
I would LOVE it if Roach and GBP would risk khan against Guzman. I obviously know full well that they won't... also Guzman is a bit of a liability when it comes to titles and PPV's as there's always a chance he'll come in overweight.
There arent many people to fight which is unfortunate, zab has his own title fight in march, and everyone else has been tied up. Prescott Ortiz (cant see it being made yet) Brook Are the only opponents that i can think of so far that actually make sense at this moment in time.
It doesn't matter. 50 Cent earned $10Million in one night from His Twitter but I'd bet he'd still make a Court Case over losing $2Million to something. No matter how rich you are, Money is Money. You see Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao still making sure they get a good purse, and for them we're talking $20M+ purses. Peterson is no easy fight either. I don't know why you think that. Put yourself in that position and it's a different story, trust me.
High risk yes..but lower risk than Maidana was. And this fight on the revenge basis will sell BIG in the UK. It will make big £££'s. Just does Khan want it??
But it will be shown on SKy PPV, so I imagine he's getting a decent wedge of the sales. I'd think he makes more fighting on SBO than he does on standard HBO, wouldn't you?
Oh right. Well, like I said, maybe it's just Peterson's team being a little cheeky and trying to get the most they can. I'd be gutted not to see this take place. Peterson's style will do well for Khan's development.
Maidana Rematch? - No chance. Ortiz - Possible, but would only happen in the U.S Marquez - Possible, but only in the U.S Guzman - Possibly (****er doesn't make weight ever) Diaz - No chance Urango - No Chance Prescott - Possible Paul McCloskey - Possible John Murray - Possible So, from that list.. Guzman, Prescott, McCloskey or Murray. God knows who else it could be.
