I'm sure Khan would want to avenge his loss and the fight would sell. But take a look at Omar Nino to see what happens when you take rematch that doesn't need to be took ;)

GBP are being twats, why not make Khan-Ortiz? Ortiz and Peterson are the only two top 10 guys available.

If you want a bit of a wildcard why not Funeka up at 140? :hey

Or if JMM-Morales goes down the shitter then Marquez. Fighting Morales would be inexcusable.

The only real advantage of fighting Prescott is to kill the demons off a devastating knockout which i think he has done by beating and getting hit by a bigger puncher and better boxer on a bigger scale however i would love to see the fight if Prescott puts himself in the position as a respectable challenger through the rankings.

Khan is now a world champion and he needs to take the top level of competition out i.e strictly top ten fighters, I understand that he people feel he needs to avenge his only defeat but I don't think the fight should be made for this reason ONLY!!!

As far as the knockout demons in Khans mind I think he's done a brilliant job of getting rid of them

Do you even watch boxing at all?

Khan can not take prescott's best shots, last time prescott through a shot he knocked khan out.

The ibf scenario you have just invented. Guzman and funeka fought for it twice, once to a draw and once where guzman didn't make weight. Vasquez beat kim, who was highly regarded and knocking people out for fun, although he seems to have gone off the rails now.

Mitchell is a bad loss yeah, but then what does that make khan's loss to prescott?

And mitchell did not get ktfo, did you see the fight? It was a standing stoppage.

Why do you say maidana is a harder puncher than breidis? Prescott flattened khan, maidana couldn't even drop him.

I'm not saying prescott is a world beater, but he is the best and most competitive option for khan in april.

Na mate. It was only two years ago this loss. Prescott is at the weight now and won his last fight. It is far better than peterson.

Khan has said no to brook and katsidis. So it is basically between peterson and prescott.

One will sell and has history. One is meaningless.

Your ABC logic is appalling. You sound like someone that started watching boxing last week when you come out with shite like Maidana didn't stop Khan and Prescott did so he's a harder puncher. So Katsidis is a monster puncher right because he stopped Mitchell, and Prescott did not? **** does not work like that, thats playground infantile logic. Circumstances...

There will still be people like me out there that say,

    same opponent same result!

Khan will get brutally KTFO by Prescott again in a rematch.

Khan has shown no improvement since his loss to Prescott, and I believe that Prescott would starch him again in a rematch, as also Khan has a weak chin and still backs off to the ropes when tired.

You just seem like someone who doesn't read the actual posts people write on here.

What I did was expose the flaw in your logic and lead you yourself to a contradiction.

You said khan can now take prescotts best punches because he took maidana's.

I then asked you why you think maidana is a harder puncher, provided you with my reasoning why khan cannot take prescotts best punches, and you reply with some abc doesn't work, yet you used the exact logic yourself when concluding khan could take prescott's punches.

Do you see now what you did?

The difference between our two viewpoints is you use maidana as proof that khan can take prescott's punches. (Abc logic). I use prescott as proof he can't (historical fact).

Valid point. My only reason for not wanting to wait is time restrictions. Khan has maybe one more year at this weight. Lets say he has 3 fights. April is the stay busy homecoming. The last two will either be vs bradley/alexander winner, or hopefully vs judah in another unification whilst bradley alexander meet.

I am certain 2012 will see khan as a welterweight. And I honestly think this will be khan's last chance to fight prescott. The other guys like peterson and ortiz can follow khan up.

Obviously not as much as you son.

Thanks for the summary about the IBF title - alright I was a bit off but the title still ended up vacant and contested between two nobodies.

Marquez is the LW champion regardless of what the IBF or WBC say.

Mitchell took about three decent shots and didn't know where he was..... it was only because the British ref stepped in to save him that he wasn't badly hurt and flat on his back.

Maidana has proven power at world level - he's only failed to stop Corley (who Witter couldn't get rid of) and Kotelnik, who's never been hurt in his life..... before Khan. He stopped Ortiz and Cayo.

Prescott hasn't stopped anyone of note ever. A load of journeymen and a one off against Khan. Jee wiz.

Why are you so strongly pushing for this fight?

It's ****ing meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

Khan could fight any of these from 135 - 147 that are more relevant than Prescott right now.......

    Murray
    Katsidis
    Marquez
    Pacquiao
    Mayweather
    Mosley
    Ortiz
    Maidana
    Kotelnik
    Alexander
    Bradley
    Soto
    Diaz
    Rios
    Peterson
    Urango
    Judah

Prescott will be talking about Khan until he's on his deathbed because that's the total sum of his boxing career. End of story.

It's a bit like the dozen text messages I've had off fellow Leeds fans saying ''Happy We Beat The Scum 1-0 Day'', living in the past.

I think the prescott fight has lost all appeal really, ''the what if presscott lands like he did last time'' doesnt hold much now, if prescott lands nothing will happen, lamont peaterson is a harder hitter then prescott prescott was drumming a 130lb fighter with big shots for 12 rounds peterson ko'd the same guy inside a round

The only historical fact is that Khan couldn't take Prescott's punches over 2 years ago. Just like he wouldn't have been able to take Katsidis' or Maidana's then.

I don't think he(maidana) has proven power at the top level. He didn't knock ortiz out, ortiz quit. His best opponents are ortiz, corley, khan and kotelnik. He didn't knock any of them out.
Prescott's best opponents are vasquez, mitchell and khan. He hasn't fought at as high a level as maidana, but he has flattened higher level fighters.

In my humble opinion, out of available opponents, only ortiz and juan marquez would be better than the prescott fight.

Haha we do live in the past it is true. Just a shame that in the present our defence is terrible and we can't win a game lately.

End of day the Prescott fight is only interesting due to the history between the 2 fighters and THATS IT!!

Prescott does not offer anything else which Khan cannot get from other fighters. I believe it is mainly us Brits that wanna see this fight. It is at this point illogical and irrelevant.

Khan has proven he is not a ducker and not afraid to get in with big bangers and to be honest I don't think he's a part of a Rocky movie where he has to get revenge of his defeat. It is now about promotion money and appealing fights that raise you in world ranks not just in the eyes of the Brits
