Khan wants to leave Warren

The Promoters did their best for Khan and have helped make him a really rich guy, considering he only won the silver medal!

They probably put a great deal of time, effort, support and financial backing into Khan. For Khan to leave now, it would be a bit naughty. After looking at Naz, Hatton and Calzaghe, he can see exactly what could happen when and if you leave a promoter

If as an example, lets say he was to sign a long contract for 5 fights then the promoter will look after him, perhaps Khan could make 5 big £750k to £1m purses. Or Khan could go it alone and make £2m - £2.5m purses and pick his own fights, promotions etc.

It looks like some promoters have the clout to get fighters exposure and big promotions. The fighters get good rankings with the WBO and now the WBA. Without this type of promotion and backing, you have to do the normal GB, Commonwealth and European routes and the WBC, which probably means lower money, higher risk and it takes longer. A big draw, Hatton, Naz, once they have the WBO or WBA belt they can then leave and manage themselves for more money. Calzaghe did so, but took longer as he didn't have the fan base Hatton and Naz had. Someone less appealing, would either not get a shot, or would stay with the promoter, or be thrown to the wolves against a more appealing prospect.

I don't see a problem with guys getting chucked in.

The best guys should fight the best guys.

Some fighters fight the best guys all the way through their career.... say Holyfield, he has a record of 42-10-2 - yet was on the wrong end of more than one dodgy decision and has fought everyone noteworthy bar the Klitschkos.

Others, like DLH, Hopkins and Mosley all have five or more losses but very good resumes.

That is far better than having hardly any losses and a **** resume.

- how many times have we heard this!

With other promoters if he gets ko'd twice big he'll become a no one. Warren will look after him. However GBP have a better track record for making the fights that matter. Khan is rich, he should look towards legacy now.
