:patsch Just because you can fight and you're good or great at it. Doesn't mean you want to continue to take abuse, or put the strain on your body forever. If you've ever boxed before or know a boxer who now stutters or slurs you would know why. It's good to get in and get out with your face/mind intact and your pockets full. There is no retirement plan or 401k.

He's not really gonna retire at 28. He says that now, but we'll see when the time comes and I really doubt it.

Hamed should no be allowed in the HoF because he was a self-delusional hype job. Boxing is better without him and his antics.:hi:

A lot of boxers says that but it barely happen. Delahoya also said he wants to retire around 31-32 but he end up fighting past 35 yrs of age. Pac says the same thing now he wants to stick around for another couple of years plus boxers do comeback.

Khan is looking out for his future, hopefully he can retire with a healthy brain and a healthy amount of money.

Kahn is a freakin' genius if he retires after a fight w/ Mayweather because you get in the sport to break the bank, legacy is cool bt nobody fights for free.

this is also a dangerous sport and you can die in the ring. Kahn is making a great decision and should be respectd'

Most fighters say they will retire before the age of 30, DLH and Roy Jones come to mind.....they both swore they wanted to retire mind in tact and not overstay their welcome......

......but as 30 nears, it all goes out the window.

Bernard Hopkins promised his dying mother he'd be out of boxing before his 40th birthday, he's now 46.

Tells you a lot about Hopkins. Breaking his word to his own mother.
