Is this Ariza really indispensable or is it just in khans mind.

My feeling is, it's the latter. He's put 2 and 2 together and come up with 5. Someone has to take the blame, right? Instead of Khan actually seeing and admitting his technical and mental flaws.

AK is finished at the top level of the sport..he will go downhill from here, physically he is no match for the top dogs at light welter - welterweight...this along with his lack of boxing IQ is going to leave another KO around the corner, expect C grade opponents and then once stepped up against the likes of Garcia, Alexander and co he will be Knocked out yet again as his chin is simply not good enough to take shots at world level!

richardson aint that bad a choice imo, he will make khan roll with the punches which is a lot better than freddie's head down, chin down and cover up defence

Just about to say that. You cannot jus tchange coach and hope for a miracle. Ive always said that roach was over rated. He is a great coach no doubt but he can only do so much.

YOu need to find the right coach for you. When Khan first went to roach he began moving and fight in and out with quick combos and then get back to moving. But latley hes been getting into wars and not sticking to a plan.

He needs to build himself back and a change of coach and surroundings could be good. Theres too muc htalk about big fights. GB and USA media have got to him and now he thinks hes too good. It cant be just a coincidence that as soon as all this hype started was when he started slipping into wars.

Get him away and rebuild with a fresh start. Best thing he can do. IMHO

whats so good about ariza that manny/chavez/khan always want him?

What does he do differently to other strength and conditioning coachs?

Could Ariza be a master of magic and they come under his spell?

interesting interview at the place that hypes fights - with Nazim Richardson talking about Garcia and Khan. Reckons Garcia walks around at 170!! and Khan struggled to make weight too and should goto 147.

Garcias old man was also saying they're looking to go upto 147

most 140 fighters walk around at 170 though, hard training would lose 15 lbs then to cut 15lbs of water is normal enough

    I agree.

Kerry Kayes is as good a conditioner as Ariza, but he just holds the spitbucket and offers help when requested.

No need to do anything else.

Yep.... Ariza is probably delighted that Khan got knocked the **** out, he can demand more and more than he was previously getting.

    In the mind.

    :yep

I could imagine Garcia walking around in the 160's.... not sure about Khan struggling unless they got it wrong. There's not a lot of him really, despite being 5'11''.

Kerry kayes is not as good as ariza he follows a bodybuilding protocol and his conditioning program is non existent.

Ruben Tabares is a great and educated conditioning coach, possibly best in the business.

In the US the one I've been most impressed with was Ronnie shields' conditioner.

In fairness, Roach pre fight was saying things like I've told Khan not to stay in there for more than 4 punches before getting out. 4 punches was already too many when Garcias main, if only, way to win was at a closer range.
