It's arguable either way. I had it 6-6 in rounds.

I agree, close fight that could have gone either way even without the point deductions.

Khan was in shape and ready to fight a hard 12. He just lost. If he was looking past Peterson he would have adapted after round 2 or 3 where it was clear Peterson hadn't come to lose easy.

I personally had it a draw but the 2 who give it to Peterson by 1 would have had khan the winner if it wasn't for the deductions. In a rematch he certainly wont sit on the ropes like he did.

Surely they would have had it a draw.

Khan didn't sit on the ropes out of choice. He was forced there.

I think Khan will take the rematch.

Peterson will probably end up fighting for a vacant belt after he moves up so should get a few more good paydays out of this win.

Peterson showed the blueprint to beat Khan, not just by landing that one punch.

Keep Khan in close quarters and cut off the ring, dont give him any space and go to the body to neutralise his speed.

I was shocked at how fast Khan was in the opening rounds but he faded when Lamont hit the body, Credit to Khan for taking so many flush shots, at least hes answered questions about his chin.

Khan does win the rematch though, it wont be in DC next time

I don't get why so many people think the losing fighter will win a rematch - it's not like Khan just got his tactics wrong.

If it wasn't such a good fight i would say no to a rematch. Credit to Petersson, wouldn't blame him if he doesn't want a rematch.

He lost on the scorecards due to two point deductions, you make it sound like it was a comprehensive one sided beat down. It was a close fight, could have gone either way.

I had it 7-5 Peterson before any deductions so 114-111. I think it would be a blank canvas in the re match, as Peterson has the advantage of knowing stylistically how to beat Khan, but Freddie and Amir will also be able to get to work on how to beat Lamont Maidanason. It depends who gets the new tactics right. Think Freddie Roach has lacked a good Plan B for his fighters recently, and they sometimes struggle to adapt.

Please point out where I said it was a one-sided beat down.

It was a close fight that could have gone either way. If Khan hadn't fouled, Peterson would have been even more effective on the inside. That's why Amir kept fouling!

So what did you mean about people picking the losing fighter in a rematch?, sure it makes sense and holds true for the most part if it was a clear victory, but this fight was 50/50 IMO, either one can win the rematch.

    The original statement was:

I'm just saying it makes more sense to pick the guy who dictated the fight and landed the better shots.
