Translated: We knew the hearing wouldn't go our way and we'd look even more foolish, so this way we can pull out, save some face, and continue to insinuate there was wrong-doing.

Weslh and Cooper aren't going to be there so its hardly a thorough process.

Boxing dies just a little bit more. What a joke.

If Floyd fights Khan then its another kick in the bollocks for boxing, this sport is becoming more and more hard to like.

Welsh doesn't work for the IBF, neither does Cooper.

The wba didn't follow any sort of process, it just followed the money.

If anything, team khan's behaviour the last month has done more damage than the alleged 'fixing' that no one has produced any evidence of.

Peterson will give up the WBA title rather than get knocked out by Khan in a rematch. Peterson knows he would lose, esp. without his personal referee and judges...........................it was still a split decision, good fight, should be a rematch. What if Peterson afraid of? Yep, he is afraid of losing.............

Aww yeah, just like when Khan knocked him out first time...er no thats when khan couldn't handle Peterson and cheated consistently. What makes you think khan will suddenly develop 1 punch ko power in 3 or 4 months?

Cant see it being for a Floyd fight, would be pointless fighting on cinco de mayo then, also Khan isnt a big PPV draw over there, so again doesnt make sense.

If anything, Team Khan know the WBA are still on their side and he's guaranteed a shot at the WBA belt one way or another in the next 6 months.

Either Peterson keeps the belt and gives Khan an immediate rematch, or vacates the WBA (which Khan fights for and most likely wins back), then Peterson gets a big money Pac / Bradley fight.

My guess is that they realized they've not got a case worth fighting, and dropped the whole thing.

That statement just shows how ****ed up boxing is, if 2 boxing organisations can't get everyone together to sort out an appeal then its a sad state of affairs and highlights even further that boxing just does what the **** it wants whenever it wants cos its corrupt as ****!

Tuck it under the covers and move on everyone wil lforget in a little while.

Im no fan of Khan but he was robbed in this fight should never of had the points off and the mystery man is a complete joke. Both orgs would have to put the fight as a no contest in order to be fair as there was someone interfering. On the topic of why he withdrew his appeal bottom line is boxing is corrupt its all about the dollar and Peterson vacating both belts makes no economic sense. There will be no rematch. Peterson will fight Pac man and Khan will move up to 147lbs think its an embarrasment for the sport but people walk and money talks

    Why not?

He fouled repeatedly after being repeatedly warned.

How about Khan's very late punch after the break in the 12th? Or the "knockdown" in the first? :hey

Bottom line. IBF will have a hearing where Hatman and and Cooper will not attend. The 2 guys that had caused the contention amoungst Khan's team and whos case revolves around, so what's the point. The IBF will find no wrong doing and Khan will lose the case. Smart move to drop the appeal. But I wonder why IBF wouldn't insist Cooper and Ameen to attend?
