Fair point but he should still be invited as should the ref. Especially the ref. Them not turning up is just self incriminating imo. Khans team have reason to cry foul.
Khan lost, even without points deductions....never see so much tripe, why dosent he try to get a rematch, or fight other top guys that will fancy Khan now...like Bradley etc. If he is so good he will pick up a title and get a fight with Peterson when the public demand it.
Ameen is associated with the IBF, and whether Cooper is an IBF official is irrelevant as the IBF sanctioned the referee. Why are IBF not interested in why someone who is loosely associated with them is sitting ringside and bothering officials? Maybe they are just sick of Khan's whining who knows. But I don't see why Ameen gets to go Scot free without having to answer to his actions... regardless of whether they were entirely innocent or not.
I've just logged on today to see all sorts of crazy stuff, funny how the boxing world can go days without much, then in 12 hours quite a bit happens, including old Audrey coming back. YES YOU CAN SON lol Gotta be a PR stunt here no lads? They got wind the IBF were going to say there was no problem so they pulled out to save face before it was written all over the press? Also seen Khan vs Mayweather might be happening? Doesn't make any sense at all, Khan get's his second straight loss. Some other lads suggesting maybe Peterson is giving him the rematch, but i can't see that with GBP and Top Rank, Bob wants Petersons IBF belt in house until the end of time now most probably the dirty focker. Should be another interesting 24 hours hopefully :happy
Amir Khan new tweet: "never will I fight for the ibf again, WBA want an immediate rematch so I'll stick with that." Khan: "I'll prove I won in the rematch but do not want the Ibf involved" "Mystery man" Ameen says Michael Welsh, WBA scoring supervisor, was unwell on the evening and he was assisting him with scoring of fight. Mustafa Ameen: Welsh made errors on his master scorecard which I spotted and amended. Ameen claims he was pictured in ring after fight with Peterson as he was assisting IBF official with championship belt. Mustafa Ameen: "he said he was not feeling well & so i noticed one error and at the end of the next round... there was a subsequent error." Ameen: "And i assisted him in correcting it, without touching anything.... And he [Welsh] himself said, "oh, wow"."
Yep. It's a difficult job copying numbers from one piece of paper onto another. I can see why Walsh would need assistance. Glad it's all over now anyway. Regardless of whether anything untoward happened, it was a close fight and should happen again. Peterson will get the career high purse that he fully deserves after his first showing.
Wallet Inspector you clearly have a dislike for Khan lets look at the facts. There should have been 2 knockdowns in the first round both were from punches. Name another high profile fight where any points have been taking off for that kind of pushing(Your answer is none) this pushing happens in boxing all heavyweights would be disqualified is all they do. As for the punch after the ref said break should have been a point off but then Peterson should have had points off for using his head. Bottom line is going by the 2 judges scorecards that were not tampered with Khan would have won without the deductions. IBF have it wrong Do you not agree that it makes boxing look silly??
This. The WBA had already agreed to a re-match so if anything the precedence would be for IBF to act in a similar way. The dropping of appeal is most likely down to Peterson-Khan rematch having been signed. If true that IBF weren't going to give way to a rematch then I think it will tarnish their reputation.
Not really. I'm not particularly a fan of either fighter. I disagree. The first was caused by Peterson tripping over the ref, the second a slip. The punches didn't put him down. Name another fight where a fighter has so blatently, and repeatedly pushed his opponent. Why should he? Did their heads clash at all? Not that I remember. Was his head above his waist? Yes. I think that taking action on a fight in which the winner deserved to win would look very silly.
