Khan's career to mirror Bruno's?

bruno had the balls to fight huge punchers&became a national treasure,2 things i dont see khan ever doin.

 

So he should have thats the point of boxing, Mcall fight was a joke, I remember watching the Witherspoon fight and Bruno was doing really well until Witherspoon decided to actually go for it and the Tyson fight was a beating, people gave him credit because for once he actually had to dig really deep and he still got destroyed.
Respect to anyone that gets in the ring dont get me wrong but I feel the support he had wasn't justified, was based on his personality rather than talent!

You can only judge Khans career once he is retired, he's still only 21...how old is Carl Froch and look who he's fought!

Hes already 21 and hes not even a p4p great, complete failure.

 

Could we all get really deep and say that both fighters have achieved a high level of popularity despite coming from the ethnic background most reviled in Britain in their respective eras? It's a comparison of sorts!

On a serious note, I think it is too hard to draw comparisons between fighters who are so completely different in style and personality. Couple that with the state of Boxing in their given eras any comparisons made are going to be slightly tenuous in my opinion.

I hope not because I guess that means Khan has already had his Jumbo Cummings moment and pretty soon his Bonecrusher moment.

Then all he is going to do is play it safe lose an alphabet shot; lose a World Championship fight; lose another alphabet crap shot; before finally winning an alphabet title, all the while beating tough but limited journeymen and fringe contenders or former contenders who had seen better days....

 

Not yet he hasn't. Those two fighters had a pretty decent dig on them......

But I totally agree that British people should support winners rather than losers.

Why people dislike Amir Khan is because all he ever bleats on about is his world title, when he hasn't even proved himself at domestic level yet. Arrogance isn't a bad thing, as long as it can be backed up - namely by guys such as:

Shane Warne
Floyd Mayweather
Muhammad Ali
Tiger Woods

as opposed to guys like

Amir Khan
Lewis Hamilton
Ashley Cole
Joey Barton

Well, you could find reasons for disliking all of them. But you can also find reasons for liking three of them - the latter two are just scrotes.
