****ing hell, the punches he just took in round 10 were brutal. Many fighters would have been knocked out, yet Khan, who was once hurt off a jab and arm punches, didn't go down. Regardless of the outcome of the fight, his chin is no longer glass. Glass chins exist in boxing, yes. However, a chin can improve. Undeniable proof right here.
I don't think anyone thought Khan could take so many clean, hard shots and last 12 rounds. Great performance.
Zakman, Jerome and Twitter champ can go eat ass. Khan proved alot in this fight. Yes I would have liked a better performance in the later rounds but Khan proved WITHOUT A DOUBT that he can take a punch. F U haters
113-112 against a guy with supposedly only a punchers chance is not good, he put in some good work early and those bodyshots took alot out of Maidana, but in those late rounds he was just running and surviving, if that ****** Joe Cortez would have let them fight out of the clinch we would have a different story, Khan's still suspect and Goldenboy's hired ref did a masterful job saving Khan. He took a point for an elbow that didn't land from Maidana but after warning Khan at least 20 times to stop holding Maidana's head down no point was taken, i'm getting sick of these refs determining these fights.
Your going way the other way here. The idea that those punches would've knocked most guys out. What world class guys around the weight? Alexander, Bradley? I don't think so. I was going to make the same thread, though. Khan's chin is definitely improved at the weight. Obviously draining to 135 hurt him a bit. Part of his getting KOed against Prescott is he didn't see the punches. He took some decent punches from Maidana early and seem to be hurt but not badly hurt. In the 10th he was wobbling all over the place. I couldn't believe Maidana didn't finish him. His chin definitely improved. It's still weak, though. I believe Khan can punch and Maidana was hurt much less than Khan was. Maidana is a murderous puncher though, and late in the fight he landed some big shots. Luckily, I believe Khan saw most of those punches. He covered up well in the 11th and 12th. Those uppercuts through the guard were great but for most of the part were partially blocked. But the clean punches he took... what a heart! What a heart! Maidana is a bull himself. He just kept coming. I think had he not tired he would've stopped Khan. Cortez was ****ing awful on Maidana. Not letting him be rough and hit when Khan trapped his elbow. And he barely throws an elbow and gets docked a point. Terrible stuff, and just warnings for when Khan pushes Maidana's head down. He's still a badass with his "I'll fight anyone." Khan is damn fast. Blistering speed early.
