lol at people saying Khan's chin won't last against the best in 140

He just fought the hardest puncher out of the lot.

You honestly think he would land it?, its not as if Khna shares the same mentality as Urango between the ropes. Khan can box a lot better than he did last night, i think its obvious what he wanted to show between the ropes last night.

He mentioned his chin every sentance in a post fight interview. He shouldn't get too carried away with it. It took him a long time to recover and he lost 3 rounds because of the hit. But he proved those who questioned him that he can take hits and wont go down on the first sign of trouble

you are putting way too much emphasis on that 90% ko ratio. if maidana keeps fighting fighters at this level his ko ratio will drop to the 40s. i like khan and i was hoping to see dramatic improvement with roach so that khan can become a superstar outside uk. based on my expectations, i was dissapointed in what i saw. he has the kind of chin that numbs his body when solidly hit and he is still there to be hit. he can take the same punches others take when he is expecting them but he cant handle the unexpected punches like others can. i was hoping to see a khan that was too skilled to get got by a skilled brawler but he proved that he cant keep his chin out of harms way against the top talent and its going to cost him.

He showed some flaws but a lot of good points too. I think that happened because he didnt stick to the plan and had an idea of proving he can take punches. You expect to get hit at some level at least he knows if it happens he can carry on.

Khan's chin didn't look too good to me.
He has a load of heart and is well conditioned though, and he knows now to roll with punches.

I don't know much about Maidana. Everyone says he's a huge puncher, so I'll take that as true. His punches looked a bit heavy-armed to me. I don't doubt his power, I just don't know him. Who's he knocked out ?

He would easily expose hypejob Alexander who got a gift decision against a Kotelnik that Khan outclassed

Bradley would be a much better/closer fight but can see Khans style giving him fits.

I have to say I was a little more than surprised to see Khan circling to Maidana's right hand side - in effect, walking onto the right hand. That can not have been part of the game plan.

I see what your saying but to say that Maidana would have a 40% KO ratio if he fought everyone on the level of Khan is just laughable.

You could say the same about anyone in history with a high KO percentage, off course there are going to be tomato cans, there is on any fighters resume, big puncher or otherwise.

That's like saying George Foreman would have a 40% KO ratio if he fought every guy at the level of Ali.

The fact is that Maidana has proven power against top level 140lbers, you wouldnt get as far as he has with a 90% KO ratio if you didn't.

Also I very much doubt Khan's going to fight like this in every fight... or probably ever again, this one was different, he wanted to prove a point to his critics that he could take a punch, and he did.

I agree 100% Khan should also improve his inside game.

Alexander doesn't hit as hard as Maidana, that's for sure. On the other hand, I suspect Devon will find the mark more easily and more often than Maidana.

    It's...

Haters = A side meth, Ariza's magical shake, PED

    Fans = good conditioning

what i mean is that the best fighters dont get ko by guys like maidana. maidana is another mayorga. great ko% with limited ability whos percentage dropped dramatically when he got to cory spinks level, who incidently, is another good khan.
sure, maidana has power. what i saw is khan almost geting kod by a guy who built his ko% on guys that other top fighters would also ko. except some of these other top fighters are faster and possibly more skilled than maidana. this doesnt bode well for khan.

Nobody is saying Khan has an iron chin. Even his most ardent supporters must recognize it's obviously a weaker part of his makeup.
But most of the post fight backlash has been against all the trash talkers who insisted Khan would drop if Maidana connected with anything even remotely powerful. Remember this is Armir Khan, the man with a china chin, perhaps the worst in boxing - or so we have been told by so many leading up to this fight.
And while you can claim Maidana's power might have been overrated, there is still no doubt he's a very solid puncher. Enough so that the kind of shots he landed on Khan should have easily KO'd him if Amir did in fact have the worst chin in boxing.

So, based on that alone Khan dismissed his critics.

But, a more sophisticated discussion by those who are interested in having it (not the chin checker clowns who are one dimensional haters and not actual fans of the sport), there is obviously still cause for concern if you are a Khan fan. He was wobbly and out on his feet quite a bit. He's going to have to shore up his defense and resist the temptation to brawl.

No fighter can be physically perfect, and in the case of Khan (and many other fighters), his chin is a weak spot. It's now up to him to fix the holes in his game to prevent a repeat of last night. He has the talent to be significantly better than he was in the later rounds last night.
