Khan's chin or just a shot in a bad spot?

Look I'll be the first to say Khan has a very shaky chin, there's just no doubt about it. The guy is probably the most vulnerable, least durable elite fighter out there. One of the most talented as well. Its kind of a sad catch 22.

However, he was clocked with a power shot directly to the ear/ inner ear area which is the part of the brain responsible for balance. Are we being too tough on his chin considering that if damn near anyone gets hit there with the right amount of power their going to lose their legs, balance, and equilibrium big time?

I mean even after that shot he was eating big clean shots directly to the face with no legs for a while. I think that one shot took away his balance and equilibrium and he was never going to get it that night?

Should we be blaming Khan's Chin or is it a case of he just got hit in a spot that will give anyone problems if they get touched there with enough force.

Garcia was countering well and khan was getting overconfident and reckless as the fight progressed. He lacked the intelligence to notice this and adjust and paid a dear price for it.

I think Khan can definitely comeback from this with an emphasis on his defense. Truthfully, I'd like to see a rematch, I have no doubt a cautious khan has the tools to beat garcia. That's not saying that he will, its just saying that he could. Either way it would be entertaining and probably the most money Garcia could make fighting anyone in the division.

The guy is always in exciting fights. So did his glass chin cost him the fight or did the shot that caught him just land in unfortunate spot?

    Thoughts?...

agreed. but that wasnt really on the chin it was more of on the ear back of the jaw.

    It's a good question...

I think Chin's Khan (haha, jk) is decent, nothing more. Maidana cracked him, and then unloaded subsequent monster shots. Without a decent chin, you don't survive to see the final bell.

    That was an equilibrium shot.

Yeah true but i'm guessing the whole "china chin" banter is basically a reference to his general punch resilience not specifically getting hit on the chin.

well his chin isnt gladd because maidana would have finished him in 3 and maidana can punch. peterson also can punch and judah also. its a comboination of both great shot khan didnt see coming and his chin just isnt the most sturdy he also doesnt know how to hold when hurt

It's his chin. That left hook didn't even land flush on his chin. Half of it was on his neck. If it had hit him flush, he wouldn't have got up. It's curious. Ariza did a lot of work on strenghtening Khan's neck and leg muscles, which invariably help punch resistance. Ariza leaves and this happens.. just sayin'. Maidana hit him just as hard as Garcia did and couldn't put him down.

He got hit on the neck, that shot would have dropped Chisora.

Khan has only been stopped twice. First time was also a freak shot. Khans chin is not the problem, it's his defence and fighting stlye. Khan has not got a glass chin, he's justg unlucky.

Deadly Serious, What doesn't kill you........

Seriously, Khan was unlucky, it was a neck shot. Garcia wasn't even looking, he wildly swung with all his might..... Luck. Khan's chin is fine. He'll be a world champion again.
