I agree, I think the move up in weight seems to have done him good.

He took some decent shots pretty well.

Still not sure to be honest, Kotelnik is not a heavy puncher so Khan's chin was expected to hold up. Had that been a Maidana or an Ortiz, I would have been worried. I don't like the way he turns away with his heads and eyes down when in defence mode, almost blinfolding himself, he looks vulnerable. Hopefully that will be touched up on.

But well done nonetheless, great jab, and a dominating display.

I don't think he caught a full on flush shot to the chin which is a credit to his improved defence. It's to early to say if the move in weight has helped.

Exactly. He doesn't have great power. Which is exactly why he was chosen for Khan's first step up in class.

Just wait till he has to fight a world class fighter who can crack. Goodnight.:yep

I was impressed too, but then you have to remember that Kotelnik has only scored 2 stoppages in his last 15 fights. He is not a puncher whatsoever.

Is this a trick question ?? "Kotelnik has no power, but Khan took some good shots" ?? So who threw the good shots ?? Kotelnik has only stopped 13 of 32 opponents ??

Why do you take such pleasure in his defeat or looking forward to him getting KO'd?

He is a guy who has obviously worked very very hard to overcome a glaring flaw, and dedicated the win entirely to roach saying he couldnt have done it without him. He is humble and hardworking.

    :huh

I thought he took them pretty well, but Kotelnik didnt really land any 100% solid shots, some were pretty clean but not right on the button due to Khans movent and defence. Well done to Amir though, i was rooting for him all the way and hes proved his jaw is in no way as awful as many people like to think!

in fairness, its hard to land a full on punch when all the other guy does is throw some jabs onto the gloves and run, big puncher or not. hardly worth saying if it has improved til he fights someone who will chase him down through the powerless jabs and connects with a full on punch

Yeah he did. He took them well, and I was impressed with the way he answered back with his own shots. But I can't help but wonder what his reactions would have been if it was against a puncher. Time will tell I suppose, he still has a long way to go and Roach has only been with him for 3 fights.

he was in there with a guy that had a 31% KO rate. Prescott's power has already shown to be way overrated. Let's see what happens when he gets in there with a guy that has a 75% KO rate. He will get his fragile Glass Jaw shattered all over again. This was a handpicked fight against a guy with a belt and no power.
