Iv been critical of Khan in the past - but primarily when he was with Wa.rren - but you have to give him his dues. Much like Froch he puts his balls where his mouth is and throws down. The kids a stud.
Because we're disappointed that Khan has lost a fight he never should have lost? That he's making mistakes that are preventing him from getting to the next level and fighting the likes of Mayweather? Yes, it was a brilliant fight, and the kid is tough as hell and deserves a lot of credit. But why shouldn't we be disappointed in his performance and the result? Your post doesn't make a lot of sense, Scurla.
If all things were equal and that incompetent ref hadn't deducted him two points he would have won the fight on all the judges score cards. Khan doesn't exactly have the fighting IQ of a Mayweather and never will. But the reality is his done far better than anyone on these shores would have ever expected him to do. For that i believe he deserves support and praise. Not unwarranted criticism for a situation that is completely out of his control.
Also, Peterson is no puncher. Maidana is a sloppy finisher. His toughness has never been in doubt, his resilience has improved, but he's clearly not unflappable in the durability department. I'm still **** scared every time he gets hit, especially because of how he deals with it. Amir's style will not see his career have much longevity IMO. I also don't support fighters automatically for sharing the same nationality as me. So I won't save Khan from criticism just because he 'deserves' my support :huh

He was blatently cheating, even after numerous warnings, the ref was 100% right to deduct the points. He was also pulling down on Petersons head/neck constantl,y and hit him during a break and a couple of times just after the bell. Khan cant expect nothing to happen when hes clearly cheating, right in front of the ref...Peterson was causing Khan all sorts of problems and Khan felt the need to cheat, because he couldnt overcome these, by following the rules.
Pure racism, from you Flea. I've read it in your posts. Just admit, you're racist towards Khan and you've always hated him!
Yeah, without the point deductions he would, but those point deductions were more than just. I was a bit disappointed he never called Peterson for ducking down, but Khan consistently pushed him off, pushed down on his head or got him in head locks after being warned and after having a point taken. He did one of the above at least a dozen times after having the initial point taken, and should learnt his lesson. If a ref is strict, deal with it. Adapt your game, part of a fighter's ring IQ is being able to understand the environment in which he's fighting in. Khan was stupid the entire fight because he didn't understand the ref's tolerance levels and way of refereeing and constantly pushed his luck. Nor did he understand that dropping his hands and letting Peterson tag him and be aggressive wasn't going to do him any favours on the scorecards in his opponents hometown. He doesn't to lose the fight for being an idiot. Maybe not, but not many ever have. He displayed the ring IQ of a ****ing ****** yesterday. What does that have to do with anything? So are you saying that is he fails to win a title fight again, it doesn't matter because he's already achieved enough? Should he just quit now then even though he has a tonne of unfulfilled potential? Khan has demonstrated that's he's a skilled fighting with a massive ceiling potentially. It's not unwarranted criticism at all, yesterday was an awful performance from him in a number of areas considering what we've seen. He has the ability to win that fight comfortably, yet he blew it with a plethora of errors. And the situation wasn't completed out of his control. People are acting like this was one of the worst refereeing performances ever. Khan got warned early, got a point taken. DESPITE that, he pushed his luck even more, spoiled, pushed, grabbed, and everytme he did, he didn't let go and was complaining to the ref. It was a silly, silly performance and people have every right to be disappointed with yesterday. I'm not gonna sit back and refuse to be disappointed or criticise aspects of his performance yesterday just because he was tough and he's already achieved a lot. He's done an enormous amount to comeback from that Prescott defeat, yesterday should have been a continuation of his journey. Instead he put in an awfully unintelligent performance, didn't fight anywhere near as good as he can and suffered a huge setback.
****ing glass jawed Amir wandering the ring staggering around like a drunk with a kebab trying to find his house keys.
Took some massive punches last night, even if they weren't from a noted puncher they were solid shots right on the chin. Defence was terrible. Seemed buzzed a fair bit but generally held them well enough, that wasn't the main problem.
