is that true about the twitter followers? I always wondered how he had that many followers, it didn't make any sense and certainly didn't match his abilty level.

Khan is an average fighter always has been
was very lucky to pick up a world title
judging by his last fight he seems like a shot fighter at the age of 26!
the one thing he always had above average was speed but that's slowing down,
The end is near

 

Lucky??? U dont get past Maidana, Judah Kotelnik and Paulie on luck alone once maybe but not twice or 4 times
He was robbed against cheaterson so thats not really a massive negative then fought stupid against Garcia and got sparked. I still think Khan can beat Garcia and Cheaterson

on the negative side Hes vulnerable and there to be hit - sadly he doesnt have the chin to get hit too often and his KO's are always brutal. He needs more time with Hunter another 2 fights at least. I still think he can be relevant at the top level but maybe hes going to Englands Vargas. An exciting fighter but shot in his late 20's

 

Excellent cv made lots of money,nice kid,fights always exciting.........but suffered like a lot of British sports prospects.....over-hyped......which of course leads to far too great a degree of over expectation.

 

agree with Rhodsie he hype around his pro career was ridicolous and i think his fights being on ITV was the worst thing for him.

 

Andy Murray,Carl Froch, Anthony Joshua,Luke Campbell,Bradley Wiggins, Gareth Bale are all going to get the same treatment.

theres a massive difference between them and amir khan Campbell was olympic GOLD medalist, Froch is a top 10 p4p star and all time british great, gareth bale is one of the top 5 footballers in the world, andy murray is arguably the number1 tennis player in the world. khan doesn;t deserve to be in the same sentence as these guys.

He isnt a world champion , he isnt one of our top 5 fighters. He's just a well known fighter, A level celebrity status that's it, he's a B or C level fighter, it;s shocking that a loser like khan gets as mucg publicity as a winner like andy murray, for some reason this country likes giving celebrity status to our lesser boxers such as khan, audley, frank bruno, and hatton i suppose... whereas all time greats like Calzaghe and Froch are hardly known to non boxing fans

 

maidana, judah , malignaggi, kotenik - are not exactly great wins lol, if you think they are great fighters you dont know much about boxing, maidana and kotelnik are average, judah was past it and malignaggi has good skills but couldnt crack an egg. Waaarren chucked a load of money at kotelnik ( the weakest possible champ available) to come to khans backyard and pass his paper title. khan moved up from lightweight to avoid the champs there as it was a very strong division at the time

 

He has a decent CV for his age and i will say this for khan faults aside he certainly isnt a coward and is willing to fight the best out there, problem is of course he cant beat the best, his best win is maidana who i rate highly and of course is a big puncher, cant see how you can rate the McCloskey or MAB wins, McCloskey has always been **** and Barrera was way way past his prime, but yes he has a good cv for his age and cant fault his courage but he looked so bad in his last fight, put down by a non puncher who wouldnt rank in the top 20 in the division i think we will really no when he fights Alexander if he still has something to give if he looses it is all over for him, and if he does lose well he can walk away with his head high his amateur and pro achivements are not to be sniffed at and have to be respected

 

he has never fought the best, he has never fought an elite fighter, he has always been the favourite going into every fight, he doesn't take risks. He's never fought an elite fighter ie - Mayweather, Pacqauio, Marquez, Matthysse.
Losing to Prescott , Peterson and Garcia is not losing to the best it's losing to mediocre guys.. the first 2 in particular... and I wouldn't be suprised at all if Garcia gets knocked out early by matthysse and proves to be a fraud as well.

Maccirinelli and Witter are about the same level achievement wise as Khan and they don't get respected so I don't expect Khan to be respected

 

light welterweight is the weakest division in boxing and theres no way hes 3rd
ring magazine is owned by his promoter de la hoya their rankings are extremely biased towards their fighters hence why broner and mares are in the top 7 p4p! lol ( i take it you never knew it was owned him lol fix up on your knowledge)
