I'd give a very, very slim chance of that happening personally.

With regards to your OP, I think it's a bit premature to be making any suggestion towards a decline in Floyd.

Post the Ortiz fight will be a better gauge as to Khan's chances.

It's an interesting match up and one I'd love to see in the near future, but as it currently stands, I'd heavily favour Floyd.

In all honesty, i think Ortiz v Khan @ 147 would be an entertaining fight.

It's just a shame Ortiz is properly up Khan's arse so it might not happen

 

Ortiz won't upset the boat. He's lost to Maidana, drew with Peterson and had life and death with Berto.

 

Mayweather's played a blinder here with this latest 'comeback'. Ortiz and then probably Khan are two genuinely sellable opponents with them both holding belts but are perfectly suited to making Mayweather look great. IMO he should shine vs both of them and stopping the pair of them late on is a distinct possibility I reckon.

Two relatively risk free fights, a lot of $ and in a great position by Sep 2011 to see whether fighting Pacquiao is worthwile in terms of the chances of him winning. That's why Floyd is coming back, not through any sense of loyalty to his fans

 

I feel sorry for the first guy who really hurts Mayweather. When that '0' is threathened i can see Mayweather coming out like a beast and finishing theguy. People forget about Floyds offensive ability just because he pot shots a lot. A threathened floyd would cause someone some serious damage. I don't think a puncher can beat Mayweather only a faster boxer. Whether Khans or Pacquiao for that matter can throw and actually LAND AND get out of the pocket before Floyd land remains to be seen. I personally doubt it.

Should Khan beat Matthyse/Morales and then gets a win or two at 147, there is little doubt that Floyd will be next in line. Khan is now a top P4P fighter, he just needs to break into the top 5 or even 10 to stake a claim.

This is the sort of fight Floyd could fight in the UK, sell out a HUGE stadium, put it on Sky PPV and probably live off of £5 per PPV buy from the 2 million houses sold. Thats £10mil quid which is about $15mil or so. Plus a cut from the tickets, American TV, basic salary, sponsorship etc Floyd will probably be rolling in something silly like $50mil.

Dreaming aside, he need sto fight Pac as that really will get him $100mil.
