His chin is glass. However he aint a 19 - 20 year old kid anymore, also he aint a lightweight either. It may have improved.
Two words: Willie limond. The above boxer is sincerely feather fisted yet was able to score a proper knock-down of khan. To be fair the lad (khan) has heart and has got off the canvas on a few occasions to win. Problem is these wins were not against madaina, bradley or alexander. One of then for sure will hit him on the chin and we all shall see.
As the above poster mention, weak as Khan's chin has been shown to be, he's got the heart of a ****ing lion. Even when he was sparked by Prescott, he was still trying to get up, even if his body wasn't responding. He should do more neck work, however.
Lol te video is funny with the music. But I think Khan has had the last laugh because he did become a world champion and is now looking to mix it with the best. I think this video is old?
Depends how you view things and what ones standards are.. Yes the video is old, yes he has come back and mixed it with some decent fighters but not ones who are famous for testing chins or the best.. The vid is old but it highlights via the amateur knock down that the lad is blessed with a glass jaw. Boiling down my ass.. He is a very gifted fighter with a glass jaw who is about to start mixing it with the best elite opposition. I just happen to not support him much due to the fact he seems a little ignorant and unintelligent, hence why i found the vid funny..
he was just flat out weak as hell at lightweight got his chin rattled and dropped by limond, rachid drilzaine, gomez and annihilated by prescott but his looks more solid at jww when craig watson dropped him though in the amateurs it was pretty funny he was not really hurt but his legs turned to jelly [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qBRAmjDXWU&feature=related[/ame]
Khan was wobbled and hurt a lot as a lightweight, most notably dropped against famed feather-fisted Frenchman Rachid Drilzane, who put Khan down in their fight with a 10-3 (0 KO) record at the time, and dropped against another pillow-punching lightweight, Willie Limond who boasted the bone-crunching record of 28-1 (8 KOs) at the time of their fight. Then there's the famous jab that staggered him against Prescott before he got put away in the first round. This isn't comparable to Gamboa, who gets floored but doesn't ever seem hurt - his is a balance issue and is usually caught while throwing flurries and leaving himself out of position. Khan was getting legitimately rocked.
He was certainly arrogant before he got KTFO. I think that humbled him. The same thing needs to happen to James Degale. Thinks he's God's gift to the boxing world.
Exaggerated a bit but he's facing the kind of puncher who knocks hard chins out just as easy, so regardless of the chin you can't allow to get his flush by Maidana. Gonna be one helluva task for Khan, and an early finish might be his best chance to get past him. The only reason I dislike this fight is because I like both guys and one of them is gonna lose - and likely labelled with all kinds of crap.
lightweight i think as it was just after the olympics kahn came back and outpointed him easily though i think it was something like 19 -9 in the end
He has got a glass jaw, that much is not up for debate. What else is clear though is the fact that the kid has heart. He's got off the canvas a few times to win and has recovered amazingly well from the Prescott fight. I would love to see him take (unlikely i know!) an early Maidanna punch and then procede to school his arse to wide UD.
I know - i so hope smith floors him..prob wont though.. It makes me laugh the way he slags off groves when groves has fought decent opposition and degale hasn't. Not saying who is the best but i do hope someone is out there to shut degale up.. He slaps too..
I never seemed to buy into the, "I was weight drained"...it seemed a little convenient to move upto to Light Welter for a World Title shot. I never seen him or heard of him having trouble making the weight (correct me if I'm wrong)...and his previous trainers packed a lot of unnecessary muscle onto his frame before Roach stripped him down. This is the only thing that could happen in this bout that would stop people going on about his chin. If Khan goes onto pick up a wide UD without getting hit, which I expect...people will still go on about it.
