Khan's Glass Jaw.....Exaggerated or Not?

While I do think the doubts over his chin have been exaggerated, there is no doubt Khan is not that durable. Granted, his durability may have improved some-what since the move up to 140lbs, but there is no doubt he does not have the best chin in the business!

Willie Limond, not a renowned puncher by any means, had Khan reeling & if Limond would have "gone for it" after he had Khan down, he would have got him out of there. Amir showed character in rallying & coming back in that fight.

The startling thing for me, is, when Khan has been hit cleanly i.e. Limond, Prescott, etc, the look on his face is one of confusion, like he has been shaken to the souls of his boots! Its like he's in shock!

There is NO doubt if Maidana lands cleanly, Khan will go! However, Khan has improved under Roach & I expect him to box to orders & win by UD!

He got knocked down by willie limmond and michael gomez but you could see he wasnt hurt, it was his legs that went. maybe he will be more solid as he moves up in weight classes. as for the prescott fight, anyone at lightweight would have been put on their asses by those punches!!

    I agree with this post.

I think that Maidana is far too crude, slow and open to be anything other than the victim of Khan's blinding hand speed.

Maidana should prove an easy nights work, so long as he is not drawn in within range to some macho slugging...which he was in the past by lesser fighters who had lesser power.

I believe Khan has improved alot under Freddie and will KO Maidana inside 8 rounds.

he came into the oisin ***an fight overweight and had 2 hours to lose it, at least i think it was the ***an fight. i remember watching the weigh in.

having said that tho, he did come into the malignaggi weigh in under the 140 limit :think

Oh right :good...there could be many reasons for not making weight, but I guess we have to take his word for it.

I genuinely hope the extra weight has improved his chin slightly...although, I don't believe you can improve a shaky chin by a great deal.

Only last week i seen Lexar slap his **** in Amirs face 4 times in a row and Khan still never flinched, These were big slaps aswell, really put twist and whip into the shots, so from that alone i know Khan can now take a wack to the face, Plus Lexar made Khans chin real slippery after the slaps so that should help in the fight also.... Khan UD

Nope, but your boy Khan's gonna be taking up residence there again next week.

Face it, Khan's chin is CHINA. Even if he somehow avoids getting KOd this time, it's only a matter of time. Khan, with his abysmal glass jaw, is just a KO waiting to happen.

For anyone saying he was knocked down due to being weight drained, I'm pretty sure the Rachid Drilzane fight was for the inter-continental LWW title even it isn't said on boxrec. I also think Koyathi scored a legit KD against him that was not counted in a fight he weighd 137 1/2 (in all fairness they were from bad balance mostly). People in America will not have seen these fights (because they were not shown in the US and can't be found on the net if your from there) but respect to you for admiting you have not seen them unlike Uncle Rico. Khan's chin has impoved since then imo, his foot speed and defence has aswell (although his chin and defence are still shite) which I think was shown against a shot MAB. This is from sparring better fighters. I can't make my mind up about his next fight because after watching Maidana it's clear to see Khan should land alot of clean shots but I can also see Maidana catching Khan with a clean short hook at some point and that will answer alot.

Not disputing that Khan almost certainly has a delicate chin, but with regard to Prescott:

He was first wobbled by a short left hook, not a jab. Next, Prescott connected with a huge right that landed absolutely flush. Perfectly placed. This was followed by a third perfectly placed left hook and Khan went down for the first time.

The odd thing is that after Khan was wobbled by the first left hook, he went ahead and got in to a very ill-advised exchange with Prescott, which ended in the knockdown.
