his chin is ****. that doesn't make him a disgrace though - in fact everything he achieves in boxing should be admired moreso due to this clear disadvantage. also i'm not sure how a chin can be "fraudulent" unless its faking being **** :huh
Khan is the very definition of a Glass Jawed Fraud. His career has been nothing short of a carefully crafted and coddled matchmaking putting him in there with fighters with disgracefully low KO rates many times as few as 5 KO's in over 30 fights and even then he could not take a punch. The only time he faced a semi-legit puncher he could not even last a minute and Prescott's power has since proven to be way overrated. HBO told him either fight Maidana or we will not put you back on our network. That is the ONLY reason we are seeing this fight.
Do you live in fantasy land? Khan was badly hurt against both Gomez and Limond. Gomez hurt him on a few occaisons, even with a body shot at one point. Amir was down for 13 seconds vs. Limond and got up on shaky legs.
Sometimes fighters are tagged with this label far too quickly, but Amir is definitely "chinny" how far he goes depends on how he learns to protect and hide this obvious weakness.
See this is the thing that people need to take into account. The ONLY reason Khan has been KOd more is because he has been carefully matched with light-hitters since the start of his career. Prescott - whose power, given his KO ratio since the Khan fight, was probably exagerated by matchmaking itself - was the lone possible exception. And now Maidana. I will frankly be shocked if Khan DOESN'T get KOd.
I'm amazed that people still claim Khan was knocked down by Drilzane. I remember seeing that fight, and it looked like a pure balance issue. Not a proper KD at all. Limond, on the other hand, really did KD Khan. So did Gomez. We also saw what Prescott did to him within seconds...Khan definitely has a bad chin. Maidana can really hit, too, so this is an incredibly risky fight for him.
I don't think Khan has a glass jaw. I believe most of the times he was rocked at Lightweight were due to him being weight drained, which can weaken a fighters capabilities in the ring. However that had nothing to do with him losing to Prescott, he got caught flush and paid the price for it. Now that he has moved up to Light Welterweight I think his chin is steadier, not that we have seen it tested that much though. If anyone is going to test it, it's Maidana. I think Khan will out box Maidana and might get a late round stoppage.
People can argue with the he was weight drained at lightweight all day theory, but that video right there can't be argued against. People in the amateur games can't even drain as much weight. They weigh in on the day of the fight.
So I take it You and the other "chin checker" made a lot of money gambling off Khans glass jaw. Also what do you think of two weight world champ Jorge Linarus.
Well he been knocked down by willie Lemond and Michel Gomez ever heard of them two big punchers ? ill let you decide
At lightweight, it wasn't exaggerated at all. He had one of the worst chins of any top fighter I've ever seen. In my opinion, his chin is still untested at junior welterweight. My opinion is that at least part of his chin troubles probably came from draining. It's unclear to me, however, how much of those chin problems came from draining. Hopefully we'll find out more in a week.
