Amen. To listen to some on here, Khan has morphed into Sweet Pea. Now, I am not suggesting that he fights with his face ala Boom Boom Mancini, but finding his chin isn't exactly mission impossible.

 

To be honest, I was surprised Ortiz managed to get back up from that shot (he showed plenty of heart there). That's as clean a shot you can find in a situation like that (Maidana having just been knocked down and all).

I would be quite surprised if Khan were to last the round after a shot like that, especially if it was early into the round. But I would be even more surprised if he managed to stay on his feet.

Well in that situation...if Khan were to get Maidana in trouble at any point, he has to be patient and not get wreckless. Learn from Ortiz's mistake.

Maidana WILL land, that is a certainty. He carries great power and Khan has very low punch resistance.

Khan has a great skill set that could nullify Maidana etc but he's poor at coping with pressure (that's something you can't really teach, and if you can you don't pick it up fighting people like Kotelnik and Malignaggi).

This could end at any time - it will be interesting to see how Khan reacts to Maidanas shots; they could be enough to make him shell up and become totally gunshy. He may well be thinking that before he gets in the ring at all.

I really want Maidana to go to the body 9like he has before) - khan has shown he's also got low resistance in his torso; Maidana needs to go there to slow Khan down, make him feel his power, and to bring Khans hands down (which will be stapled to his temples).


Very interesting fight; i'm really not sold that Khan is now some kind of defensive genius - training videos can make people look stellar but when it comes down to it, it's Khan in there alone with a murderous puncher.

people underestimate maidanas speed , the first round against ortiz his punches were fast and thats when khan goes down

 

he showed extreme vulnerabilities to pressure when he fought gomez, he has improved a lot since then, but he hasn't fought a short pressure fighter since then either, and gomez was a shot super-feather at the time.

This fight is going to be crazy, let me put it like this.

Does Maidana think he can outbox Khan over 12 rds? NO

Does Maidana think he can get Khan tried later on so he can close the range and land that killer shot? NO Khan ant gasing

Maidana is going to go striaght after Khan like a mad man and try to KO ASAP, but in the process Khan is going to counter the **** out of him.


Both ways i dont see this fight going past 6 rds max, this going to be a crazy ride.

 

I think Roach will have told Khan to go down if he's hurt and recover for about 8 seconds and come back up.

If he stays up, he could go good night at any moment, so I think it would be good to take a knee.
