Also says Khans next fight could possibly be back in the UK.

AMIR Khan’s manager says the Bolton boxer remains committed to returning to fight in the UK – with or without Sky.
The 24-year-old’s last fight in England, against Paul McCloskey in April, ended with a dispute between Sky and Khan’s management team that is yet to be resolved.
That fight and Saturday’s unification win over Zab Judah in Las Vegas were eventually shown on the lesser known Primetime pay-per-view channel, after Sky withdrew their own offer of pay-per-view coverage, leading Khan to indicate that it could be some time before he fought at home again.
Khan’s next fight is likely to be in the US in December but his manager, Asif Vali, says it is not impossible it could take place in England, which has already been earmarked to host his first bout of 2012.
“It could be in Vegas but no decision has been made, we’re waiting on HBO (the US television network) to guide us on that,” said Vali about Khan’s next fight. “But don’t think it won’t be in the UK because it could be.
“Amir’s not going to rule that out, he’s got his UK fans and he will fight in the UK.
“We will talk to the broadcasters in the UK.
Sky have made a decision, I believe they are coming out of the payper- view business. I don’t know how true it is, but if it is true it’s a shame.
“But you don’t know if Channel 5 will be there, regular Sky will be there, I presume, and Primetime will be there.
“We’ll know the pay-perview figures for Primetime in a month but we’ve had updates and they’ve been very positive.”
WBA and IBF title holder Khan has a number of potential opponents for his next fight, with the first port of call likely to be another attempt to lure WBC and WBO champion Tim Bradley into a bout for the right to be called undisputed light welterweight king.
But discussions may need to be had with the WBA, who could strip the Boltonian of that belt if he does not face the winner of the forthcoming bout between Marcos Maidana and Robert Guerrero. Trainer Freddie Roach is not keen on a rematch with Maidana.
“We’ve got to look at the situation with the WBA,”
    said Vali.
“We’ll sit down with them and see where we’re going to.
“There are a number of good fights coming up. If Bradley doesn’t come to the table we’ll move on to a bigger and better plan.
“We’re going to see the outcome of the Guerrero- Maidana fight and the outcome of the Erik Morales fight.
“Let’s see what’s going to happen between Breidis Prescott and Paul McCloskey as well.”

Obviously sky are gonna lose alot of interest in boxing with no big PPV events coming up, i wont be suprised if Ringside slowly disappears off our air waves soon aswell.

I thought that the interview was more interesting in the way that Roach doesnt want Maidana, if the figures were so good he would have announced them like he did with the McCloskey fight.

I don't blame Roach for not wanting Maidana again, tough fight but so would Guerrero maybe even more difficult. IMO Roach wants the easier fight which is Morales or maybe even Prescott.

I can see the next Khan fight being on Primetime again. Khan seems to like that channel.

Maidana actually approaced roach to train him, but roach said it was a no no because there might be big money for him and khan in a re-match, there is a youtube interview on it somewhere.

I don't understand why people want ppv to stop?! The only way that big super fights will get made is if there is a ppv outlet. There simply isn't enough budget for a huge fight to be on regular Sky or Channel 5 etc. PPV is the only way the big fights will get made.

If people want to watch a paper champ defend his belt against Nicky Cook, or Tocker Pudwill etc then get rid of PPV.

PPV is a massive part of why we will see big fights and British fighters in big fights.

You think Calzaghe vs Hopkins, Kessler, Jones Jnr, Hatton vs Mayweather & Pacquiao, Haye vs Klitscko could have happend without the PPV market in the UK.

They don't want to keep paying £15 for British title fights like they have this year. Was Groves/DeGale, Haye/Klitschko, Khan/McCloskey, Khan/Judah really worth £60 all together?

If PPV completely dies out, big fights will still happen because they will still earn more money as long as the other networks don't agree to show too many one-sided mismatches like they used to with Hatton and Calzaghe.

I don;t even understand the premis of 'coming out of the PPV business'

If there are fights to justify it they'll do it, simple as that

Most likely the last few PPV events just haven't been worth the ****ing about. If it made £ sense they'd do it.

So they are most likely saying to promoters give us genuine big selling fights or don't even suggest that we do a PPV.

Why a month for the PPV figures.

After the McKloskey fight Primetime were releasing numbers days after so why a month this time?

I dont think Sky are exiting the PPV Market, they are just being a lot more picky on what goes on PPV and I dont blame them for that.
