Manager to seek talks for Liverpudlian’s US debut

On the back of David Price’s comments about making his American debut on Amir Khan’s July 7th fight card at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, Khan’s manager Asif Vali has told WBN that he will put the matter to Golden Boy Promotions in the near future.

Vali, who was ringside in at Aintree Racecourse to witness Price’s crushing fourth round win over Sam Sexton, was impressed by the new British champion and is keen to help secure a slot on Khan’s upcoming bill for the former Olympic bronze medallist.

"David Price put on a great performance against Sam Sexton to win the British heavyweight title and it's clear he is a genuine prospect,” Vali told World Boxing News.

“I saw that he mentioned he would like to fight on the undercard of Amir's next fight and this is something which I'm going to put to Golden Boy Promotions to see what can be worked out."

Price, 28, has few options domestically for his next fight by his own admission, and the logical step for the 13-0 knockout specialist is to test himself further afield against some seasoned professionals across the Atlantic.

For Khan, the 25 year-old is still attempting to secure an opponent for his headline bout in the summer following the collapse of his WBA and IBF title challenge against Lamont Peterson earlier this month.

this would be great for price, i hope he gets a slot, i wonder if it would be on the televised portion? if it is then they should get someone half decent in to give him a credible win with alot of exposure.

If that ever happens, the Irish can have Fury - he'll only embarrass us.

The americans would burst out laughing at Fury looking at his out of shape body, Pricey definately has the star quality about him. then again lots of Irish in america so maybe they would take to him.

If Price fought in America and destroyed his opponent in the same manner that he has been doing, then his profile would be sky high!

This would be great to get Price some exposure over there and experience too, hope they pull it off.

I saw him at the fight he was sitting next to Amir Khans dad so they are probably serious about this.

im not the biggest fan of khans team, especially after the sky debacle, but dont let your hate get in the way here, they are clearly trying to help Pricey out and get him on a big show over there. Nothing to get upset over.

I would agree Price on the undercard of Khan in America can only be positive exposure regardless of anyones motives.
