I know quite a bit about St Clair, as he was due to be an opponent for Scott Harrison many moons ago, so I did my homework on him.

I cant believe people here are saying hes not on the same level as Jon Thaxton! The guy was a world champ, & people are saying hes not in Thaxtons league??? Wake up people, wake ****in up!

I have seen alot of st clair, he lives in Australia, He is very talented boxer, very slick and skilled and very good at making fighters miss.

Not a big puncher at all at 130 and Image even less at 135, so he mite give khan some problems with his boxing ability if he is not tagged early in the fight.
I just think Khan's size and power will be to good for Gary but there is a good change it could be a very god test for the young brit.

Good opponent. Former world champ, loads of experience etc

He is a superfeatherweight but his career dwarfs Khan and that could make up the difference of 5 pounds.

Khans big for the weight, just like DLH, it's not his fault.

this fight will tell us how much khan learned from the limmond bout, the aussie seem pritty well polished and i'd say is a notch tougher then limmond,

If Khan's being moved towards the WBO lightweight title, then surely he needs fights that will prepare him for Katsidis, or Diaz depending on who's got the belt by that time. Not only has Khan not been tested by a big puncher which is understandable, he doesn't even seem to be getting experience in fighting someone as big and strong as he is.

Has anyone seen St Clairs most recent fight?

Was a six rounder, opponent was Robert Oyan (W18 L32 D4). Loss to St Clair appears to be his 6th in a row.

so you don't think this is a step up?

i don't think he is a good opponent because he is a "former world champion". i think he's a good opponent because he's mixed at a much higher level than all of khans previous opponents. he may have lost 2 of his last 3 fights, but both losses were at championship level. and so what if he fought corrales "nearly a decade" ago..its not like st clair is old and shot - he's 32. it wasn't so long ago when he beat the south african baloyi in his opponents backyard.

and st clair has never been knocked out and so will hopefully give khan a full 12 rounds. how can you think that this does nothing for khans development?

The more I think about it the more I like this match... Dunky is 100% right this guy would on paper be far too good for Thaxton.... I like seeing Khan matched with fighters i'm familiar with- thats my gripe but if TCW says along with others that this guy is good then i'll go with that... i'll try and check him out myself later.

    Do you have this fight?

If so, any chance you could put it up so those of us who are not familiar with St Clair can see what he has looked like in action recently. Thanks.

    Exactly !

While I expect Khan to do deal with this guy ( and I dont think a win will really tell us all that much ) St Clair is definetley better than Thaxton.

    That's quite a claim!
Even if that is the case, there would still be a big jump from fighting blown up super feathers to big lightweights.

Those fight reports are really intresting. Khan is a simular size and frame to Harris and Corrales and fight like them in certain ways. This guy sounds like a bit of a gate keeper. Much better than Thaxton.

If Khan knocks this guy out it will be a big deal, ive heard hes never even been down as a pro or amateur.

Diaz, Katsidis, David Diaz, Casamayor, Thaxton and any of the Light Welter champions would not have knocked graham earl out in 72 seconds, infact the first 3 rounds.
