Who is this new guy training Amir Khan for S&C, his name is Tony. Anyone have any info on this guy, as to who he's trained before or currently trains.

Khan should hire Marquez' top steroid strength trainer, a trainer who is an expert at not only PEDS, but at cheating drug tests. He testified against his so-called friends to keep from going to prison. He is an admitted drug expert! It was all over the news, but for some reason is being kept silent, except for a few commentaries......................

I honestly thought he was still with Tabares. Tabares is a world class hurdler who's also trained David Haye and John Terry.

taberes is a bum, he built khan up like a body builder for the garcia fight, compare his upper body and arm size to other fights like judah fight

I thought Virgil Hunter said that one of the conditions of Khan joining him was that no S&C coach would be hired?

Virgil's S&C guys seem to be doing a good job.

Ariza to Tabares was a negative transformation then Tabares to Virgil S&C was positive

Hard to compare Ariza's and Virgils work...

Virgil seems to be more interested in Khan's form and body posture = good - since Khan does hold himself odd at times.

A S&C of his choosing, were Virgil's demands. The guy who's training Khan is one of Virgil's guys, I think. Virgil still oversees everything.

Regardless, too much is being made out of Khan's S&C. That part of his game has never been his problem since getting to the top. Alex Ariza done an excellent job with him. And Ruben, despite making him too top heavy, didn't do an awful job either (although you can't really say, seeing as though the fight was too short). It's his tactics and skills (lack of) that have been his undoing.

The difference was darn near impossible to judge.

He wasnt carrying any excess fat in either fight, and weighed the same.

Thanks for clarifying. I agree that the importance of an S&C is over-emphasized by Khan and his team. It's taking away from what he should be focusing on.

    Bull****.

Khan didn't even really work his neck with other guys.

Tabares was more of a nutritionist and fitness instructor than a S&C coach (Made Khan very lean)

S and C coaches, like personal trainers are not all created equal. Education and certification is all similar....but there are some progresive, competent, dedicated, forward thinking one`s who do a great job and continue to tailor to an individual clients needs and goals, and then there are run of the mill guys like some PT`s who work at your local commercial gym churning out standardized training programs to a population that is not standardized in the least. Like all other professions....few elite, some great , lots good, lots bad.
