We all know that Khan is likely to have a tune-up fight, IF he comes back. Obviously he'll be put against someone who is decent, but lacks power. So I've made up a list of possible opponents to fit the bill.

Have a check on them, and some thoughts.

Firstly a fairly good opponent would be Denis Shafikov:he's unbeaten, has SOME power but not concussive, more accumulative. And he's lacking a bit of basic boxing skills, but is pretty strong. Should be a good match for Khan to win a wide UD.

No Khan opponent thread would be complete without Cesar Rene Cuenca. He's unbeaten but has hardly faced anyone with a pulse, and has the punching power of a drowned hedgehog. Perfect-fit for Khan to dominate an unbeaten fighter, and inflict his first defeat.

Third choice for me would be Mike Dallas Jnr, a fancy name for a fancy fighter who has some skills. Like Khan he lacks an iron mandible, and has some speed, it would be a good clash of styles. One I'd expect Khan to win, via knockout.

Another fighter who could provide an easy test for Khan would be Albert Mensah. Who recently defeated Michael Kasidis, he's reasonable but hardly world class, and again lacks zip in the punches. Would be a good tune-up for Khan to take a late stoppage.

Other fighters who could join this list are, Ashley Theopane, Joan Guzman and Ali Funeka.

its gonna be a bum without a doubt, no way they risk 3 L's in a row and at the moment anybody who can half bang is a risk

prescott is without a doubt the biggest fight he can make, the casuals will want to watch it as well and it actually would go some way to reviving his career. A lot of people will tune in because they think he'll get sparked again.

Winnable for him too, if he plays it safe. Probably the biggest non-title fight he could make, and would go down well in the UK.

I actually don't know if he's smart enough not to get into a brawl though, it seems like he goes on auto pilot now, somebody really needs to sort him out.

Why should it be Prescott? He knocked Khan out, what Khan needs is a confidence boosting fight, rather than one which could retire him. Have a tune-up, then maybe fight for a world title/big name again. Then IF he wins both fights, then line up Prescott.

He needs to get his career back on track, and he can't do that facing someone who KO'd him previously.

Styles make fights and Khan will again be suspect to a big Prescot punch.

Problem is every fight Prescott has, he does CATCH his opponents. Look at what happened to Paul McCloskey, Mike Alvarado, Miguel Vasquez, and even to some degree Kevin Mitchell. He lost those fights but caught those fighters, even putting some down and hurt them.

Khan will have to really come through tough times, and be able to box seriously smart to survive the first few rounds and win the fight.

Khan says he feels that the only guy left to fight at 140 is Garcia.... I hope Angel Garcia refuses the rematch despite the big numbers he'll see...

Theopane was calling him out. article on the scene.

he beat corley, who stopped Mckloskey recently, he also lost a close decision to Garcia... and apparently Garcia thought he lost that one?

i think it depends if khan is going to 147 or staying at 140. Also i think his first priority is the rematch. It just depends how much HBO will put on the table for the rematch

im maintaining that Prescott is one of the worst possible choices he has a very real chance of finishing khan off for good.

But if that's the case then he probably needs to retire anyway

    I'd go with Prescott now.

It's the confidence booster and ''avenge a loss'' in one swoop.

If he can't beat Prescott now he might as well give it up, in all honesty.

Survive the first two rounds and he's pretty much yours for the taking.

I agree from a fans point of view this is a good fight, sink or swim

but you know this is boxing i just doubt they would take it, I don't think they have ever fancied that rematch tbh
