Lol, it's frustrating to watch. And yeah, I think he's gonna' trade with Garcia and make things harder than they ought to be. Which means a good scrap for the neautrals.
Nice display picture.. yea, he did look rusty despite the fact that he was suppose to be ready for Peterson by the time that sparring session took place.. all I'm hoping is the Freddie has touched up some of the mistakes and Rueben has helped increased his power.. that shuld do it.
i agree its still looks the same khan fron peterson and maidana. no head movement no inside game getting caught on the retreat too much heart and balls and still pushing his opponents off of him.
Thanks. I've got a strong feeling his speed and stamina has been sacrificed a little bit, and we'll see evidence of it come Saturday night. I'm beginning to seriously question Amir's capacity to improve.
Do you reckon it's too much heart and balls? Or do you think it's him not knowing what to do when being pressed, and fighting fire with fire is the only solution he can come up with? I fear it's the latter.
Yeah i agree Rico, I thought that myself. Glad Tabares said something he could of laughed it off but least he tried. But i notice with Khan he does far to much posing and gesturing for camera's. There was two punches in that first sparring clip which if he ate on fight night he'd be starched!. Gym wars aren't doing him any good.. Yeah i agree, Kinda looking forward to it i think Khan as you say will make this fight harder then needed. Like the avatar btw :good.
Yea, let's see.. I'm a Khan supporter but if he's not improved and corrected the flaws we saw in the Peterson fight then I'll be disappointed.. then it would be mean he's a becoming a one dimensional fighter (flurry of punches).. he desperately needs to develop an inside game.. the only thing different I saw in the video was his frequent use of the uppercut when in close In Khan's defense, his sparring sessions closer to the end of his training camp may have looked significantly different.. I thought Khan's mitt work out with Freddie Roach from a couple of weeks ago looked impressive.. but can he replicate that in the fight? Not sure what to expect..it will be an interesting fight though!
Thought the exact same thing. Those punches would have put him on his in a real fight. Lol thanks. There are loads more here: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=415946
Yeah, maybe I'm looking too much into and am being a bit too harsh. I guess we'll have to see. Looking forward to it as much as I am Haye-Chisora, now.
I wouldn't worry too much. Sparring is sparring. We've seen Manny look bad in sparring, we've seen Mayweather look bad in sparring and so on. Sparring really should not be read into. I remember Khan's fight with Kotelnik where a sparring session was released a week before the fight at his gym and he was getting hit a lot and didn't look great at all, but he put an absolute clinic on the dude.
How thick are some of you people..? Ringside is a edited TV program. During a boxers training camp and sparring sessions, fighters will be working on different areas of their game. You might be boxing and moving around with some sparring partners, you might be fighting on the inside with some sparring partners and putting emphasis on tying a guy up....... People need to use their ****ing brains. That was one sparring session! Coaches show in camp, what they want the public and opponents team to see!
Remember he will have probably done all his conditioning work before a spar so he will be pretty ****ed physically in there. I wouldn't read too much into it.
They really should NOT have put that sparring session up! He just basically exposed every frailty he possesses. Damn that was sloppy! He should be sharper he had a camp for Peterson and only had 2 weeks off. Tried to use a low David Haye Guard at one point, but not a good idea, he doesn't use head movement, and he actually doesn't have the reflexes for all his speed. Balance looked bad, was over reaching at times after throwing right hands. Basically he looked a bit of a mess in there and didn't quite know how to fight the guy he was in with. You could argue he was trying different things in there and that's fine, but there is no excuse for looking so crude when it comes to the fundamentals, by now he needs to have that **** down to a T.
its edited as pk said, they will show what they want garcia to see, saying that the guy he was sparring is an undefeated armenian olympian.
