Amir Khan's world title shot against Andreas Kotelnik may have to be postponed after it emerged Kotelnik is suffering from a tooth infection. Khan, the 22-year-old Bolton fighter, is due to challenge for Kotelnik's WBA light-welterweight title in London on June 27. However, Germany-based Ukrainian Kotelnik is struggling with the tooth problem and therefore may have to postpone or pull out of the fight altogether. If Kotelnik is unable to make the June 27 date, promoter Frank Warren will either put back the fight for several weeks or secure an alternative opponent. A spokesman for Warren told PA Sport: "We're just waiting to find out from [Kotelnik's] German promoters how severe it is and whether it is going to be delayed or if he can still go ahead on the 27th. We're still waiting to find that out. "If he can't then it will be postponed or Frank will look at another option. "We're looking at a couple of things but if we can still go ahead on the 27th with another opponent [we will], or just postpone it and hopefully it will still be Kotelnik but in a few weeks' time. "Frank is working on it this weekend and we should know something on Monday or Tuesday." The June 27 card at the 02 Arena also features British middleweight champion Matthew Macklin defending his title, Matthew Hall and Anthony Small meeting for the British and Commonwealth light-middleweight titles and the third professional appearances of former amateur stars James DeGale, Frankie Gavin and Billy Joe Saunders.
