Mijares is not yet as well recieved in the Classic Forum. But, based on styles, I think he has the potential to be one of the best ever in the lower weight classes. Mijares by Wide UD. He's the type of fighter needed to beat Galaxy.

I agree, save for a freak KO(Mijares has proven a very good chin so far), I just don't see how Galaxy will win more than 4 rounds judging from the tape we have to study on Galaxy.

Mijares is just too incredible of a boxer and he will be one of the best lower weight class boxers of all time. Possibly the best 115 pounder ever if he can stay there until he's 30 or so.:good

Galaxy, for as strong and powerful as he was, would have his hands full with Mijares. Mijares would control the distance with his jab and put on a clinic countering Galaxy's wider punches with straight shots up the middle. I've seen them on film, and from my estimation, Mijares is a cut above.

    Mijares UD

Agreed, very interesting styles matchup there. Both southpaws. Watanabe's more timed shots and straight left vs Mijares's superior workrate and jab.

At his young age, Mijares is already a H2H monster.

Lets wait and see before we go over the top on the guy.

He could get pulverised by a poor mans galaxy type in one of his next fights for all we know.

I'm not a Galaxt fan, but Mijares has never fought a strong banger on his level before.

    Haha, Mante nailed it!

  14. Yikes. So many jumping on this bandwagon.

    Vic KO Mijares...

To be honest though - it looks like he ruined Mijares - he's not looked good at all since.

What's surprising about Vic is that after being whooped so decisively by Donaire everyone thought that Vic was ruined, however he's actually came back so strong and managed to ruin a top 10 p4per. Not many have done that before.
